Huawei just launched its P40 series, but can this Huawei P40 beat it all?
Phones having superior cameras are making DSLRs going out of the market in no time. This is true for the competition getting tougher each year by releasing flagship smartphones from different brands. And one of the best smartphones which have impressive cameras is Huawei. With the release of P40 series, it has shaken the market for their additional features and standalone App store.
The Huawei P series gets two types: the standard and pro. The standard model brings additional features like a new Kirin SoC while the pro models give that specific factor which can attract every tech consumer. What the P40 Pro Plus stands out is its powerful rear camera packs equipped with five lenses while the dominant one is having a 50-megapixel sensor. Among those sensors, there is a 3x optical zoom lens on the top right and a superb 10x optical zoom one on the bottom left.
The Huawei P40 Pro Plus’ display is curved on the sides and bottom of the device, but its aluminium frame flows over the corners to protect it from drops. Huawei says their inspiration for the display is dropping of water and it looks stunning. The curve makes sense for modern smartphones, for its gesture navigation that has become the default navigation method in Android 10.
This phone might be thicker than some other flagship phone, but the premium feel is unyielding. Huawei P40 Pro Plus feels exactly like you’d expect a high-quality smartphone to feel, which is smooth and nicely weighted.
The Performance and Features
Huawei says the phone can achieve 100x zoom through a combination of hardware and software. With a resolution of 1200 x 2640 pixels, which results in a pixel density of 441 pixels-per-inch, it’s sharp. The OLED screen tech stands out beautifully, with vibrant colors and customizable color temperature and display options.
For its processors you can expect identical performance across the P40 Pro and P40 Pro Plus, for both have pack Kirin 990 chipsets with 8GB of RAM. Where the Pro Plus outshines the Pro is in its 512GB of storage.
The lack of Google Play Services makes it challenging to recommend, given that all newly launched Huawei won’t have. With that access restriction, it makes the experience of using a Huawei device complicated for the Google Play store is the best way to get the most popular apps you would typically use. This will happen not until AppGallery can match the Google Play Store in the selection; you will miss some core experiences offered to most other Android phones. But the P40 Pro Plus undoubtedly has one of the best camera systems on the market paired with the incredible build quality.
