The Pokemon GO’s July Community Day had just started over the weekend, July 19. Have you joined the worldwide battle? If yes, congratulations to you!
Another question: have you caught the July’s Community Day featured Pokemon, Gastly? That purple pocket monster isn’t easy to catch but worthy of your time amid pandemic. If you’re lucky enough to catch Gastly, you also might have chances of getting its Shiny version!
Interestingly, the Shiny Gastly (or specifically its evolved version Ganger) also went trending online due to its uncanny resemblance to someone: the normal Ganger himself. Wait, what?
‘Shiny Ganger’ isn’t that Shiny at all
This image of Pokemon Ganger went trending since the start of the July Community Day. As you can see, these are images of Gastly’s evolved Pokemon called Ganger. Of course, it has a Shiny version. And it’s besides that normal Ganger picture. See any difference? Yup, we don’t see anything too!
This Reddit post was captioned with ‘Happy Community Day everyone’ under the ‘Humor’ category. So its clear definition that the post was intended to make fun of the ‘no different Shiny Pokemon Ganger.’
Everyone in Reddit also sees the picture as a very funny yet a true comparison of almost all Shiny versions of pocket monsters in the game.
Redditor @MisukaM said “Do have to say, most shinies are boring. The tiny tone changes + gold tints are boring, most palette swaps are ok.”
“I think they really missed out on making Gengar shiny something spectacular. Nice green or yellow or just any other bloody color!” says another Redditor.
“Thanks and this meme is the reason why I’m keeping my shiny Gastly unevolved,” says another one.
In defense with the Pokemon GO developers, the Shiny Gastly seems to be darker compared to the original image on the left side. But fans really don’t care about that. Some say that Gastly has the best Shiny version looks but Niantic chose to settle for the darker version of Gastly.
Which Pokemon that has its Shiny version is best for you?
