According to the Counterpoint Research, Apple’s iPhone SE 2020 sales were down to 23 percent this second quarter of 2020 compared from the last year’s report. Despite having a decrease in sales, it was still selling above expectations during the pandemic.
Both Apple and Samsung were able to maintain their sales than the other brands due to their powerful online presence. The new iPhone SE 2020 is the device that helped the company’s sales volume afloat throughout the quarter. During the economic downturn, the overall US smartphones sales were down to 25 percent over the previous year.
With a price tag of $399, the iPhone SE 2020 has been selling well in both postpaid and prepaid channels.
Apple volumes grew through the quarter and were especially helped by iPhone SE volumes. It was not a typical Apple launch with large fanfare and a launch event at the Steve Jobs theatre, which normally also includes a blitz of TV ads. However, the device has been successful and selling above expectations in both postpaid and prepaid channels. Since the iPhone SE launched, carrier stores and national retail have been re-opening.
