This Audio Technica ATH M50 is among those most widely praised headphones ever by audiophiles. Such studio monitors provided the most realistic signature sound and produced an amazing audio experience. With a new design and minor changes with the Audio Technica ATH M50x, these obsolete set of headsets have a much-needed upgrade. What makes these headphones stand out from the rest?
There’s an explanation as to why Audio Technica ATH M50x is the most highly praised set of headphones. It has 15-28,000 Hz frequency response, 99dB Sensitivity, and 38 ohms Impedance response.
These headphones were tested on an iPhone 6, a windows laptop, and a Yamaha Amplifier HTR- 2067. The sound given by those headphones is better than its predecessor.
The headphones have a perfect sound profile. Throughout the show, you could really listen to every chord of the guitar, and the voices were absolutely bang-on.
The bass was okay, too. Not quite punchy, but also not disappointing. What was lacking here, however, was the active noise cancelation feature. While passive noise cancelation did a great job, we’d love to see active noise cancelation.
Design and build
The headphones look similar to the M50s. Although they have a minor change to the design and colors. The model we received was the recently released limited edition matte grey, which definitely looks sick. The headphones are light on the ears, have 42 mm drivers, and are headphones of the over-the-head style closed-back form.
The cups are rotating 90 degrees so that they can actually be used for single-ear tracking. The ear cups are made from memory foam and a really comfortable place. Since the leather cups will render the areas little sweaty besides the mouth.
Three cables are bundled into the M50x’s. A regular 1.2 m cable, a 1.2 m coiled cable, and a three-meter long cable. You also get a leatherette carrying pouch to make portability safe and simple. We’d love to have a built-in microphone cord for calls, but that’s included in the bottom or only for order, which is unfortunate.
The M50x gets a detachable cord, which certainly makes them even longer-lasting. All and all, the build standard is top-notch for extended listening period.
Now we know why audiophiles love these most beautiful sound-producing headphones accessible in today’s price range. Perhaps it’s absent in some areas, but it certainly masks that with the way it looks. That’s what we all like in our headphones. This has a well-balanced tone, so Audio Technica ATH M50x doesn’t disappoint you.
