A new Nancy Pelosi video is now circulating on all social media platforms. The United States Speaker of the House on the video seemed to be slurry and confused about what she’s saying in the middle of a press conference. If you are going to watch it, the congresswoman was drunk by how slow her conversations are. It turns out, the circulated video was fake and edited. However, Facebook is the only one refusing to delete the video on the platform. Here’s why.
Nancy Pelosi’s fake video strikes again!
We all know the name of Nancy Pelosi. Not mainly by her name in politics, but because of her name pops once a fake video is searched online.
The Democrat leader has been a victim of edited fake videos that shows her drunk in the middle of something important like press conferences, and then, people will post it online through social media platforms to look her incompetent for drinking that much. The first video uploaded against her was promulgated in 2019.
Last Thursday, July 30, the same thing happened. A Facebook user uploaded a video of Nancy Pelosi, speaking in the middle of a press conference with the U.S flag behind her. With her yellow top, the congresswoman looks different and sounds different.
She definitely looks way too drunk to hold a press gathering. And it was the point of the video. The user captioned it, “This is unbelievable, she is blowed out of her mind, I bet this gets taken down!”
It was fake, obviously
As obvious as it seemed, the video was edited and fake, according to Hany Farid, a visual forensic expert, and professor at the University of California Berkeley on CNN.
“This appears to be the same type of manipulation (of) the Speaker Pelosi that made the rounds last year,” Farid said.
Clearly, she was not drunk during the video. However, since the edited video looks really drunk on her part, netizens online shared the video 92,000 times and reacted 10,000 times. But, it was not the end of the issue.
Though it’s clear that the video was edited for a political reason, a lot of people still found the video real in their perspective.
“She is always drunk, so even if this isn’t true its just another day. wouldn’t be the first or the last that this old nag would be found drunk or doing something inappropriate on national tv. like tearing up the president’s speech,” said another Facebook user.
Another Facebook user even commended Facebook for not tearing the video down and said that “There is no partly false information fact checker! Video does not lie #dumbass!”
Facebook refuses to delete the video
As of now, Facebook is still not removing the original post. Youtube and even Twitter already apprehended the video and deleted some of the copies uploaded online.
On Facebook’s side, they don’t see any violations of the video. “And, as always, when a video is determined false, its distribution is dramatically reduced and people who see it, try to share it or have already shared it, see warnings alerting them that it’s false,” said Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone.
What’s clear is that its fake.
