Square Enix unveiled the latest big patch for Final Fantasy XIV Online. The new update reduced much of the base story’s bloat.

This update, Patch 5.3, brings what they hope the “Shadowbringers” expansion will be a lot of new material. The PlayStation Blog poster also featured updates for the growing community of Warriors of Light.

Although A Realm Reborn really revitalized the game, the update became a giant barrier for new players to cross. The game becomes more beginner-friendly than ever. The patch took out a decent portion of some of the game’s more repetitive content needed.

What to expect in the new update?

Final Fantasy XIV Online’s new patch rolled on significant improvements. The game adds the entire base version, “A World Resurrected,” and the first expansion, “Heavensward.” Patch 3.56 will also update other parts of the game.

This is the equivalent to two full free “Final Fantasy” titles. Players can enjoy more hours of playtime with no limits.

Among the other apps which are now available to Free Trial players are:

  • The level cap for all levels and free trial did increase to 60 degrees.
  • Players can now check out a total of 13 different jobs and schools. These include Dark Knight, Machinist, and Astrologer.
  • The Au Ra competition is free for action.
  • The Dead’s Palace is now completely accessible, and players can traverse to the deepest level.

Players can also access to these bonuses. Plus they can play through the “Heavensward” expansion if they own “A Realm Reborn” or plan on getting the Starter Version.

The amount of story quests before unlocking everything in the game is one of Final Fantasy XIV’s main obstacles. Hence, Square Enix revamped and simplified “A Realm Reborn” to allow new players to enjoy the best plot while still advancing to and beyond Heavensward.

“Reflections in Stone” also includes the option to fly using riding horses in “A Realm Reborn” areas. Players will continue to finish the “A Realm Reborn” main scenario in the hunt for Supreme Weapon. Still, they can experience new perspectives and pass through these areas even faster.

What is Final Fantasy XIV?

‘Final Fantasy XIV’ is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed and released for a 2010 release by Square Enix. Set in Eorzea’s fantasy world, players take control of a custom character as they traverse the land and are trapped in both an attack by the hostile Garlean Empire and the threat faced by the Primals, the deities of the Beastmen tribes of the planet.

This is what the PlayStation Blog claims to be just the tip of the iceberg on what players will expect in “Reflections in Crystal.” Whether playing for the first time or going back to enjoying this revised game, this latest update aims to breathe fresh energy into “A Realm Reborn.”

Now that the toughest slog in Final Fantasy XIV has been significantly cut down, there has never been a great chance to see what all the fuss is about.
