Apple has secretly created a “top secret” music player for the US Government.
Shayer, who has worked for 18 years in the company, stated that he was requested by the iPod software Director to build a particular iPod. The project was by two engineers from the U.S. Department of Engineers, David Shayer, and contractors from Bechtel.
Only four people from Apple have known about this project, and all of them are no longer connected to the company.
The Apple iPod Project
Apple has tasked the engineering team to modify the specific Apple iPod to record data from the hardware. The aim is to make it look like a standard iPod, but with additional data recorded to the device’s hard disk and needs to be undetectable.
The former Apple Engineer’s role was to oversee any help needed from the Department of Energy. The team was given a designated office and taught how to navigate Apple’s operating system. The iPod model that was being copied was the fifth-generation iPod.
The Apple iPod Team
The U.S. Department of Energy is the division that focuses on nuclear weapons and power programs. The project that was created last 2005 has a budget that costs $24.3 billion.
David Shayer never has a glimpse on the additional hardware personally, but believes that the device is to like the “stealth Geiger counter.” This would become extremely useful for the Department of Energy when covert operations gather evidence of radioactivity.
No iPhones Are Going to be released this 2020
Consumers who want to purchase the newest iPhone series will have to wait longer since there will be no iPhones to launch this September.
Apple CFO Luca Maestri spoke with investors recently and confirmed that the iPhone 12 launch will be delayed and not going to happen in September, as opposed to rumors that say it will be launched during that month.
There has been no reason or details divulged by Apple, Inc. as to why the iPhone 12 release date will be delayed. Apparently, this is not the first time that Apple has been to this trend.
It could be noted that in November 2017, the iPhone X arrived late just months after they unveiled the iPhone 8 series during the September month of the same year. Though Apple revealed that it is launching these phones, it was until those weeks that the mobile phones came forward.
