Fortnite files Lawsuit after App stores Ban

Fortnite into the lawsuit action.

Fortnite files Lawsuit against the Tech Giants, Apple, and Google. This is right after they got banned from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The reason for the banning of Fortnite in these platforms is because of Epic Games’ bypass of their payment systems and trying to avoid the sales cut.

Both Apple and Google have set their sales cut standards to 30% each purchased apps. Some users may no longer avail of the online game through those platforms. However, Android users may still have other options in doing so, by installing it using the Samsung Galaxy app store and Epic Games’ own launcher app.

Fortnite has updated their game and offered its players a 20% discount, but only if the gamers paid the Epic Games directly and not the other platforms. This term has pushed Google and Apple to ban the game from its platform permanently.

Fortnite files Lawsuit Idea

According to the Fortnite case filed, they have highlighted Google’s previous motto “don’t be evil” to point the unfairness they created for the game.

The case also states, “Google has relegated its motto to nearly an afterthought, and is using its size to do evil upon competitors, innovators, customers, and users in a slew of markets it has grown to monopolize.”

Epic Games mentions that they want the mobile app stores to be fairer for all developers.

As the court documents claimed after Fortnite files Lawsuit, it indicates that Epic Games’ Fortnite is not seeking a compensation payout or a more favorable deal for itself.

They have launched a campaign focusing on consumer-rights and currently using the social media tag #freefortnite.

Fortnite VS Apple

Epic Games stated on Monday that Apple is targeting its entire business in certain unrelated areas. The company seeks a temporary restraining order for the actual restricting access to its software development tools.

Apple stated that they originally designed the App Store to become both a trusted and safe place for its users. Apple even added that Epic has been one of their most successful developers in the App Store, stating that they are becoming a multibillion business capable of reaching millions of iOS users.

According to Apple, the problem at hand can easily be remedied if Epic Games submit an update of their own app that complies with their guidelines.

Apple noted that Epic Games will not receive any exceptions since they want to enforce proper guidelines and protect their users.
