The platform is on the move during the COVID19 pandemic.
Zoom announced on Wednesday that its platform will be expanding to smart displays. They will be available on Facebook’s Portal, Amazon’s Echo Show, and Google’s Nest Hub Max for the next few months.
The first platform to be taken over will be the Facebook Portal, which will be this September. It will also have the smart camera that will keep the user’s frame intact when he or she moves around.
As for the Amazon and Google devices, the operating system will be likely helped by their respective assistants through voice recognition. Zoom also stated that these devices can be connected to calendars for organizing meetings.
However, Zoom didn’t reveal yet as to when it’s coming to Nest Hub Max and Echo Show.
They are Moving
Zoom also announced a hardware product of its own earlier this year in a partnership with DTEN. This is to take advantage of the high demand of their software.
According to Oded Gal, chief product officer, “We’re excited to bring Zoom to these popular devices. Its more apparent than ever that people are looking for easy-to-use displays for their video communications needs, both professionally and personally.”
How To Do Karaoke On Zoom
Nothing can stop us from singing our hearts out, especially when we are in the mood or not in the mood. How much more we can do karaoke with friends? We are in a certain period now where we have to stay home and stay safe. Some even have to cancel their plans or travels due to the current situation we are currently facing. However, with Zoom’s add-on feature, friends and family can now enjoy karaoke. Here’s how:
Send a karaoke party invitation to your friends. Ideally, this invite should include instructions on using Zoom and Watch2Gether. Here are the steps:
- Join this Zoom Meeting (so we can see and hear each other): [Zoom meeting link]
- Join this Watch2Gether Room (so we can watch the same karaoke videos at the same time): [Watch2Gether room link]
- At the top of the Watch2Gether room is a search bar. Type in your song title and select one of the results that populate below the playback window. Add it to the queue by clicking the + symbol.
- When your song comes up, sing!
There you go now and enjoy!
