Although gamers are more inclined to play their games in the safety of their own quarters, there is no question that it is important to venture beyond our homes’ walls and enjoy some fresh air.
We can’t deny that being away from some of our favorite games can be challenging. Today’s gaming laptops are indeed becoming smaller and more powerful, which hopefully promotes a change of view.
Under the hood experience
The Acer Predator Helios 300 comes with an Intel Core i5-10750H Processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB GPU, 8 GB RAM, and 512 GB drive. It also boasts a 1080p monitor of 15.6-inch 144Hz and an RGB keyboard.
Right out of the start, the Helios 300 is more than ready to play some of the finest games on sale right now, whether it’s a few rounds of Apex Legends or shooting and stealing in Borderlands 3, those games would both look fantastic and perform just as good on the Helios 300.
Also, the laptop is just the best size and weight of your travel. It is not too bulky or too unwieldy to take out anytime you need to use it. Granted, we don’t anticipate or necessarily suggest playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey when scaling up outside our rooms to our readers. But it certainly suits the bill if the need emerges.
Acer Predator Helios 300 would last up to six hours on our tests before starting, which of course, meant we had to take a coffee break in between all the sightseeing. This also implied a fast Rain 2 Chance Round while charging the laptop.
For the Predator Helios 300, built-in overclocking is a small selling point. It is only achieved simply by clicking the Turbo button above the keyboard or using the Predator software.
The software doesn’t tell you how hard it moves the GPU clocks. Still, overclocking makes a difference from 17,035 to 17,527 marks. Our total 3DMark Fire Strike score improved by around 3 percent. We have taken that to push a button, even though it’s impossible to make a significant change in the battle.
The side effect of overclocking is marginally more noise from the fan. Regardless, considered the fan noise to be tolerable at full throttle, becoming no louder or quieter than most gaming notebooks.
Overall, the Predator Helios 300 has very few drawbacks and is definitely an outstanding laptop for both work and play. If portability with power is what you really need these days, look no further than the Helios 300.
The Predator Helios 300 is available now through authorized Acer retailers and online stores.
