Apple has recently expanded its AppleCare+ insurance package with an extended annual unintended damage policy up to twice a year. Its devices are also liable for double the replacements for customers who take advantage of the company’s insurance.
AppleCare+’s protection plan includes coverage and assistance for multiple company-made products. Devices like the Apple Watch, iPhone, Macs, and even iPads are a part of the warranty’s security strategy.
What’s with the updated protection plan?
The tech giant grants customers a one-year extended warranty and 90 days of free technical assistance when purchasing new Apple devices. AppleCare+ is expanded coverage to Apple products that the company is recommending to buy and the products.
The tech giant boasts of an AppleCare+ one-stop-shop. Its native hardware and software service will recognize and address all the device’s needs and issues. The tech giant will also include the new devices in the revised improvements.
Apple only revised its AppleCare+ security package today, September 15. Before this upgrade, AppleCare+ has a restricted scope for unintended damage and other phone issues twice every two years or 24 months.
Apple also said the COVID-19 pandemic adversely influenced AppleCare +’s market as customers reconsider their spending during an economic slowdown. Giving them more time might help to further boost the services business of the company.
Suppose you buy AppleCare+ for a computer you already own. In that case, you will need to check it in an Apple store or through a diagnostic test if you order over the internet.
So if you didn’t have the extended warranties last September on your iPhone 11, you now have a fresh chance to lengthen coverage. Plus replacements are much easier when you have AppleCare+.
As reported by MacRumors last year, some Apple stores had already been exploring the expanded timeline for purchasing AppleCare+.
The upgrade also provided a better iPhone theft and loss protection that cost only $149. Losing a customer’s iPhone due to theft and loss can now be cheaper to replace. Before the upgrade, iPhone replacement costs up to $269 under the AppleCare package.
Minor fixes, including screen loss and touch-screen, will cost AppleCare+ customers $49 to $99 but vary based on the damage to the handset. AppleCare+ is not a ‘free’ service beyond the insurance scheme. However, the reckless treatment of one’s handset may not be optimal. The tech giant will, of course, charge a few extra bucks.
AppleCare+’s Extensive Service
Apple’s insurance package for its smartphones includes a safety net for consumers who find it challenging to use their phones and carefree lifestyles. AppleCare+ is also given a year after delivering the machines to the United States and Canada, should there be no budget allocation upon delivery.
Different options from Apple’s Line-up are available to multiple customers. The security package covers nine gadgets: iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Monitor, Apple Screen, HomePod, and even headphones such as the AirPods.
