Riot gave League of Legends: Wild Rift‘s access to many countries. However, not all nations are lucky since the popular mobile game is still unavailable to some.
Because of enormous VPN logins which pose many problems for the Wild Rift, the game’s publisher has moved to prevent VPN access from high-volume VPN services beyond beta regions.
Riot Games is currently preventing several non-beta accesses, making the change immediately effective. The company explained that VPN logins can lead to a range of issues.
These include language barriers, lag spikes, and other game-breaking problems that prevents other players from playing it smoothly.
The game’s publisher admits that the new policy is disappointing. However, Riot added that it is the right move as of the moment.
Riot Games said that “It kills us to turn off access to anyone, but we think this is the right move to make sure players in the beta can enjoy Wild Rift the way it was intended to be played.”
Riot didn’t disclosed the blocked countries
Riot hasn’t released the specific names of the countries that are blocked. However, Wild Rift’s game publisher said that they started with the nations that have the highest VPN services.
The company also noted that several countries might also be added if they see a rise in VPN logins. But it could be the other way around since once the issues calm down, Riot Games is expected to remove the new policy.
Wild Rift began at the beginning of October, in particular areas of Japan, Malaysia , the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea , and Thailand. The plan is in December to extend to the economies of Europe, Ocean, Vietnam and Taiwan and in Spring 2021 to the Americas.
League of Legends: Wild Rift is undoubtedly one of the most awaited titles, and so players probably searched for means of breaking into the beta if they were away from sponsored locations.
Many articles, such as those explaining how to access the game in iOS in the United States, have contributed to the current issue. But, these guides would not work anymore, thanks to Riot Games’ new policy.
The game publisher said that it is currently working on Wild Rift’s global availability. Its team is doing its best to make this a possibility.
However, Riot Games added that it doesn’t have anything else to share at the moment. The company also explained that cutting off access to Wild Rift’s fans is not their thing.
But, their current priority is to provide the best experience to those players who can access it legally. Right now, the game publisher hasn’t released any dates yet for Wild Rift’s release on other countries.
The new policy might Riot Games speed the process, and hopefully, everyone can play the game soon. These kind of games are important to some individuals that are having rough times during the ongoing pandemic.
We can’t blame them if they really want to play it.
