Holidays are coming up! That means more and more people are now looking for ways to be entertained, even by staying-at-home.
One way to do that is through binge-watching your favorite TV series or Christmas classic movies. Sadly, thanks to pandemic, governments decided to limit cinemas and movie theatres– with the thought that people could be infected.
If you still want to enjoy a theatre-like movie watching at-home, you could just purchase your own laser projector, set up your own home cinema, and never be worried on getting the virus.
Now, that’s simpler. But, how do you choose the best laser projector for you?
What to look for
The best yet most expensive projector is the laser. Compared to other projector types like LED or Lamp, it is more durable, has long-lasting power, and generates low heat.
Primarily, this device is used in conferences, seminars, churches, or even schools. To top it all off, most laser projectors nowadays have more image quality than the common brands.
So far, there are tons of reviews sites looking for that best laser projector of 2020. However, as we looked further, only one brand has the edge on this arena: the Epson brand.
Japan’s Epson company is one of the world’s leading and largest manufacturers of computer printers, or any related imaging equipment.
Projectors, as well, are one of their quality items. In fact, most users prefer to buy a new model of Epson LS500 laser projector– which is said to be the best laser projector of 2020.
Though ranked at the highest as of now, another Japanese known company Sony, wants to share the fame– with the new WUXGA laser projectors, the VPL-PHZ60(6,000lm) and VPL-PHZ50 (5,000lm).
Sony laser projector vs. Epson LS500
Approximately 15 pounds and less than four inches high, both projectors are driven by Sony’s original “Reality Creation” technology, which Sony says provides enhanced clarity and expression in images and text, without increasing digital picture noise.
Here’s a quick rundown on their features:
- 3LCD laser projector
- 6,000 lumen image brightness
- Support for 4K 30P input signals
- Both has original “Reality Creation” technology
- ‘Bright View’ option to deliver easy-to-see images and videos
- Has ‘Intelligent Settings’ that automatically adjusts to environment
“Sony was the first to market with a laser light source 3LCD projector in 2013 and we’ve continued to evolve our lineup and expand our offerings ever since,” said Theresa Alesso, Pro Division President, Sony Electronics.
The VPL-PHZ60 and VPL-PHZ50 are planned to be available in December 2020.
Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS500
As we called it Epson LS500– or Epson EpiqVision Ultra LS500– is currently ‘the best laser projector of the year.’
Here are some of the key features to look out for on this model projector:
- Has native 4K resolution
- 3LCD chip color
- Advanced 10-bit HDR
- Throw distance – 0.7 inch – 1.9 inch
If we compare, a lot of important features of Sony projectors are similar with the Epson brand. So, if Sony released these projectors in a price lower than $4,999– Amazon price of Epson LS500– then, maybe we get to find the new ‘best laser projector of 2020.’
