Stranger Things is now making its upcoming season 4. This TV series has been one of the most talked-about shows in the past years, and it’s not just about the scary stuff.
As people look for spoilers for the next season, Netflix surprised everyone by announcing the season 4’s next batch of characters, to be introduced soon.
Who might possibly be a nice add-up on the series than the killer from The Nightmare on Elm Street himself, Freddy Krueger?
Don’t get your hopes up yet, though.
Is Freddy Krueger part of Stranger Things?
The infamous character from Wes Craven’s The Nightmare on Elm Street is now back on the spotlight. This was after many reports told us that the dream-demon serial killer is about to join the US horror science fiction TV series, Stranger Things.
Not to burst your bubble, though. Only the man that played Freddy Krueger– which was Hollywood actor Robert Englund– will be the one joining the series.
We don’t know with you, but Englund’s addition to the series is still a major turn-on for scary movie fans out there.
Interestingly, Englund’s character in the series have small similarities with his role as Freddy.
The actor will play as Victor Creel, a disturbed inmate at a psychiatric hospital who has been imprisoned there since committing a horrific murder back in the 1950s.
Are there any connections with Stranger Things and The Nightmare on Elm Street?
Stranger Things involves stories about children with deep horrific backgrounds. When 12-year-old Will went missing, a young girl with supernatural powers intervene.
Meanwhile, The Nightmare on Elm Street is a popular movie in the 1980s that shows dream killer Freddy, or also known as Springwood Slasher.
In the film, Slasher was accused of killing and molesting children, in which in return, the parents of the victims decided to make a move and burn him alive.
If we compare, the stories do not really align with each other. Except for the fact that both of them have children involved, and scary stuff.
As of now, we don’t know if this storyline will affect Season 4’s plot. Some of us, however, hope for that.
Game of Thrones actor adds the list!
Not only Mr. Englund has new role in the popular TV series. Even Game of Thrones Faceless Man Jaqen H’ghar, played as German actor Tom Wlaschiha, will be joining the story.
In February, Netflix released the Stranger Things Season 4 teaser, in which shows David Harbour character Jim Hopper surviving at the end of Season 3. However, he was held imprisoned in Russia, wherein Wlaschiha’s character barges in.
Another actor playing a new role in the series is Mortal Instruments and Sweeney Todd actor Jamie Campbell Bower.
He is set to play as one of the orderly at Creel’s mental hospital, who is mainly against all the cruelties happening inside the facility.
Unfortunately, there are still no news on the official release date of the series’ season 4. However, some cited that the release date may happen in summer 2021, at the earliest suggested time.
