Samsung might be releasing Galaxy Z Fold 3 by 2021! Currently, the tech giant is focusing on the Galaxy S and Note series.
Why? Because the two flagships’ paths are converging for the past years. This is happening because of Samsung’s ability to increase the screen-to-body ratio of smartphones.

The giant manufacturer’s ability makes the two handsets look similar. But, there are still some instances that Galaxy S has a larger display than the Galaxy Note.
As of the moment, the S Pen stylus is the only thing that differentiates them from one another. However, recent rumors state that smartphone Galaxy S21 Ultra might also have S Pen in 2021.
The smartphone will have the stylus, housed inside a case, rather than the device itself. Once it is launched, it will be really hard to differentiate the two flagships.
Samsung is allegedly releasing a replacement for the Galaxy Note series. This time, the company officially confirmed that the Note flagship will no longer continue.
Samsun Galaxy Z Fold 3
The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to replace the Note version in June 2021. Samsung is already developing final samples for the device’s mass production.
An anonymous Samsung official leaked the information. He also confirmed the launch will include the S Pen stylus.

So, since the rumors are already confirmed, this means that the Note series will never have future versions. Speculations also stated that Galaxy Z Fold 2 will receive the stylus.
However, the plan was ditched because of the device’s screen. Samsung explained that the smartphone’s Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) is very fragile.
If an owner uses a stylus, there’s a high chance that Galaxy Z Fold 2’s screen will break. The tech giant is making some improvements to avoid this issue.
Samsung is currently enhancing the second-gen UTG display. Once it is ready, the company will equip it to Fold 3 for more durability.
This is why the upcoming smartphone is expected to have the S Pen stylus.
Will the upcoming smartphone have an under-display camera?
Samsung is reportedly making the first ever under-display camera (UDC). And now, Galaxy Fold 3 is allegedly receiving the technology.
The tech giant manufacturer could also integrate it into its upcoming foldable smartphones. Speculations stated that Samsung played with the new idea.
It toyed with a pop-up selfie cam on the Fold 3. However, it decided to experiment with the UDC instead. Many rumors also claimed that Samsung is developing an OLED screen.
But, unlike other displays of its kind, this one would allow the light to pass to through the camera. Samsung is also looking to spread the gap between pixels.
It is focusing on the part where the camera is located so that the light can pass through.
However, there’s still a chance that the UDC will fail. Samsung can easily remove the feature if this happens.
It has the chance to do it before the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is ready for production. Even if UDC is really taken away from the device, it could still continue the legacy of the Galaxy Note.
The foldable display and a built-in S Pen stylus will help it to do so. As of the moment, the company hasn’t announced yet the exact date. We’ll keep you posted once it released another update.
