Slack’s value is getting more expensive than expected.
Slack’s Stocks are getting higher as a possible acquisition of the said platform to Salesforce. It has been reported that the Salesforce company is interested in purchasing slack where almost all startup companies have been using.
Slack is a platform where teams in an organization mostly communicate with each other and even do online meetings.
Slack’s Stocks Increase
As of today, Slack has increased by 25% according to Yahoo Finance. It is said to be that the company is already $36.95 per share, which would total around $20.8 billion dollars as of writing. This value was way bigger than its previous $15.10 per share.
So, what’s the reason for this stock’s possibility?
Salesforce is known to be a massive software company that offers CRM. Having this kind of product, they have been aspired to become one of the largest companies in this type of platform. Other possibilities of this acquisition cross-selling the two companies’ products into each other’s consumer bases and opening growth for both parties.
And according to Holger Mueller, an analyst at Constellation Research, states that it would give Salesforce a revenue source, something they are constantly looking for to keep their revenue rolling.
“Slack could be an excellent candidate to strengthen its platform, but more importantly account for more usage and ‘stickiness’ of Salesforce products — as collaboration not only matters for CRM but also for the vendor’s growing work.com platform,” Mueller said. He added that it would be a way to stick it to former-friend-turned-foe Microsoft.
New Slack is surfacing in the tech market, but with a hint of a bit of intrigue and confusion. The company has planned to implement the extra features of Discord-like voice channels, stories, and cross-business DMs for the new Slack channel.
The company aims that this informal nature in the pipeline would help employees connect with one another during work.
This plan is likely to be executed this later 2020 quarter or early 2021.
New Slack: What to anticipate?
The channel users may expect to have an “asynchronous video” that will let them pin videos to the channels being used for their random communication. The company hopes this feature could stand in for quick meetings and allow managers to share information with ease.
It will also have a “push-to-talk” feature or an instant messaging that is a bit similar to Discord’s voice chatting setup. This feature could allow a group that can create permanent voice channels. This would make Slack users communicate without having to type like the usual.
With all these changes, Slack’s stocks increase will become justifiable.
