It has been ages since The Last of Us 2 entered the market last summer, but a teaser focused on Abby’s tale was recently published by Naughty Dog and Sony.
“It explores her origins, the events that spark her search for vengeance, and the devastating repercussions that follow. You’ll also get a glimpse into Abby’s unique gameplay and how her training, equipment, and skills contrast Ellie’s,” says Scott Lowe, Senior Communications Manager at Naughty Dog, on PlayStation’s blog.
Abby’s tale and how she gets embroiled in a vicious circle of repeated acts of vengeance are the subject of the video. It directly picks up what left the first Last of Us-Joel kills Jerry, her dad, leaving Abby desperate for too many years of vengeance.

The reception on Abby’s trailer is however, much like its game, somewhat ambiguous and splitting.
The original video, which was posted to the official PlayStation YouTube channel on December 3, has amassed only a few likes and dislikes. The trailer has 19k dislikes out of 31k likes up to this writing (5/12), but the numbers may also rise with time.
Even, The Last of Us Part 2 received many high-end honors amid polarizing receptions from the fans. TLOU2 brought home five Golden Joystick Awards trophies earlier in November, including the PlayStation Game of the Year, Best Narrative, Best Recording, and the Overall Game of the Year.
The Last of Us 2 has earned several nominations, including the coveted Game of the Year trophy, from the Game Awards 2020. Ashley Johnson as Ellie and Laura Bailey as Abby, all voice actresses of the main characters, are both eligible for Best Performance. Neill Druckmann, the main creator of the game and VP of Naughty Puppy, and his workmate, Halley Gross, are both up for Best Narrative.
The end of The Last of Us 2 is not this trailer. There’s always something coming up in the store for the title, and it might be a multiplayer DLC, as Neill Druckmann on Twitter promised.
Be patient about the Last Of Us 2. It’ll be worth it. Might it be a multiplayer DLC like “Fractions” or a full tale powered by a single player like Left Behind? Oh, who knows?
