Apple Watch Sales has impressively gone up to 11.8 million units in the third quarter of this year, 2020. This number gives that 75% difference between the sales last year 2019 of its third-quarter to today. This report was based on the released statistics shared by research firm IDC.
Apple Watch Sales New Record
This trend sets a record for the Tech Giant, which is additionally contrary to its previous prediction for the quarter due to the ongoing pandemic. According to Strategy Analytics’ previous sales, Apple Watch has never exceeded 9.2 million sales in any prior quarter.
The Third quarter contains the newly launched Apple Watches such as Apple Watch Series 6 and mid-range Apple Watch SE, and the Apple Watch Series 3 provides customers with several price points.
Despite having the statistical reports, Apple still hasn’t disclosed the exact number of Apple Watch unit sales in its earnings reports. However, Apple’s wearables such as Airpods and Apple Watch have brought a record $7.9 billion in revenue last quarter.
According to IDC estimation, Apple Watch held a 21.6% market share among wrist-worn wearables shipped worldwide last quarter, which is in a second spot behind Xiaomi’s estimated 24.5% market share.
Apple Releases Second Beta WatchOS 7
Apple seeded the second Beta of watchOS 7 to developers today. This will be the newest version of the watchOS software designed to run on the Apple Watch. The second beta will come two weeks after Apple released the first beta.
For a user to install, the user will need to download the proper configuration profile from the Apple developer center. Once done, it can download the watchOS seven beta through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update.
And to update the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have a 50 percent battery life; it must be placed on the charger and in the range of the iPhone.
