iPhone owners are currently suffering from a bug. The issue is affecting iOS 14, Apple’s latest system.
There’s no doubt that iOS 14 brought amazing new features. However, some users are complaining that they are experiencing lagging with Apple’s messaging app.
The current bug includes messages being read. That’s normal right? However, the texts will pop-up as read even before you see them. Another problem is the two to three-second delay while drafting or composing messages.

iOS 14 eventually catches up to the user’s typing activity. However, continuous stop-and-go frustrates many iPhone users.
Many people already reported that the bug appears on many social media platforms. These include Twitter, TikTok, and more. Experts were also able to replicate the current iOS 14 bug.
Users are also posting the current bug on Twitter. Some of them evens said that iPhone 12 is also suffering from the issue.
A TikTok user also confirmed that issue, saying that he experienced delayed typing. The comment received 500 replies and 43.500 likes.
Is there a fix for the bug?
Apple hasn’t released any solution yet for the iOS 14 bug. However, some users found different ways to temporarily fix it.
The users on Apple’s support forum shared their temporary workarounds for the current bug. The solutions include resetting the keyboard dictionary.

If the fix doesn’t work, there are still other solutions you can try. Some popular Apple support blogs and websites suggested a new way.
They said that users should disable FaceTime and iMessage. Once they do that they must force their iPhone to restart and re-enable both apps.
The current bug is not surprising since it is not the first reported iOS 14 issues. This is also not new to Apple.
That’s why the tech giant manufacturer is releasing several updates for its systems. These updates usually contain fixes and new features that will surely enhance the user experience.
Apple’s latest iOS 14 update allows users to set their default WiFi browser. However, when they turn the phone off, the settings go back to Safari as default. This is another issue that the latest iPhone system encounters.
Although it is fixing it is very simple, many users are still frustrated. As of the moment, Apple hasn’t released any confirmation if a fix is already being developed.
Fixing the current issue
Although users claimed that they were able to fix the current issues, it’s not 100% accurate. iPhone is not the only device suffering from typing lags.
Android devices also have their own issues when it comes to messaging apps. For example, Facebook Messenger previously went down.
Many users can’t send a message or even access their chatboxes. Sometimes, the problem is not with your device.
The issue usually happens in the app itself. But, there are many methods that users can try to fix the issue.
To help you with the new bug, here’s another method you can use.
- First, you need to go to your Settings app. You can do this either on your iPad or iPhone.
- After that, find the General option and click it.
- You need to scroll down to locate the Reset button. Once you’re there, just tap on the Reset Keyboard Dictionary.
- After that, all you need to do is type in the device Passcode. Completing this method should fix the iPhone keyboard lag bug.
