Would this be the greatest Nokia comeback?
Nokia 8 was just recently released in the market. This is to set a record for Nokia’s premium phone line after its partnership with Android. It is also nice to note that it doesn’t cost that much like any other android phones in the market while having premium specs. This latest Nokia model is said to be the comeback of the company in the tech market.
Nokia 8: Design and display
It is undoubtedly that Nokia 8’s design and display is quite stunning. It has an aluminium unibody design with metal edges which is available for four distinct colors and a vibrant 5.3-inch QHD display. The device is quite thin, having 7.9mm at its thickest point, but the edges curve down for a strong grip.
Any played video looks sharp that shows the QHD resolution that offers 554 pixels per inch. And what amazes us on this device is its classic antenna, kicking that nostalgia way back in the 90s. The antennas would help in capturing signals in the area.
Performance and Specs
The newest model comes with decent features and internal materials, which makes it part of the premium flagships. The device is powered by Snapdragon 835, which is Qualcomm’s current flagship SoC and octa-core CPU. This comes in with a 5.3-inch QHD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. As for its RAM, Nokia offers 6 GB RAM up to 128 GB internal storage and the base variant with 4 GB RAM up to 64 GB internal storage. The chipset is then boosted with Adreno 540 GPU for graphics-intensive tasks and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. The company also upgraded the device with Android 8.0 Oreo.
As for the camera, Nokia still partnered with Carl Zeiss who specialises in optical instruments for dual cameras. This comes with two camera sensors of 13 MP resolution and video in 4K resolution.
- Out now in the UK and Australia, will not launch in the US
- Price was originally £499/AU$899 (about $700)
- We’ve now seen the price drop as low as £399/AU$690
Nokia is out now in Australia and the UK for about £399/AU$690 and can be bought on Amazon for a lesser price. The Nokia 8 offers a lot of prominent features such as a powerful chipset, dual-sensor camera, and a perfectly sized QHD display. And having a lesser price point now, this would be Nokia’s great one.
