Is the fastest technology in our hands now?
5G Network is finally here, as it was recently deployed by Singtel. The company has launched its 5G technology enabled by 5G New Radio (NR) Standalone and dual-mode 5G core network products and solutions from the known company, Ericsson.
5G Network powered by Singtel
Singtel has built an energy-efficient 5G network that will operate on Singtel’s 3.5GHz and 28GHz spectrum bands, reaching 5G coverage all over. The company ensures Millimeter wave (mmWave) connectivity in hotspots across the area. Partnering with Ericsson, this will make the standalone reliable.
And using Ericsson’s radio and core solutions will ensure users stable internet connectivity for any cloud gaming, immersive virtual reality/augmented reality, robot-human collaboration in real-time, autonomous transport, remote healthcare, precision smart manufacturing and smart-nation interaction.
Group Chief Technology Officer, Mark Chong, of Singtel, said: “We are working with Ericsson, leveraging on its industry-leading 5G capabilities and to deliver applications and customer experiences for our consumers and enterprises.”
According to reports, Singapore was named world’s most competitive country economy for the second successive year in the latest IMD World Competitiveness Ranking.
Verizon: A New 5G Hotspot For $400
Verizon just announced that there will be a new 5G hotspot for business and homes. Verizon will be releasing their Inseego MiFi M2100, which only costs $400 (for one-time payment) and $16.66 per month for 24 months. Though this may not the first time that Verizon has launched a 5G device, this latter one is quite cheaper than the other.
The new device also has a better screen and can support the low-band spectrum that’s coming soon beside the high-band 5G spectrum supported by both.
The New 5G device can link up to 30 devices via Wi-Fi 6, which connects to both Verizon’s 5G network and 4G LTE network. If used with a direct tether to the modem using its USB-C port, you can get access to the 5G network on your phone, tablet, or laptop.
The hotspot device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 5G modem and comes with a 3500mAh battery. The MiFi M2100 has a 2.4-inch touchscreen display. There’s also a separate 8500mAh battery that will be available later this year.
