The team of Surface Duo is currently taking a break from sending out updates in December and will resume by early 2021.
Up to this point, the Surface Duo of Microsoft has been going along with the monthly updates ever since its first launch. Although this December will be the first time out from the constant updating for the past months. Updates for the Surface Duo will go on hiatus until the holidays come to an end.
Since the new year is closing in, it seems that there will not be a single update in December for the Surface Duo. It does seem like that, and Microsoft has also confirmed this themselves, that there won’t be an update. A spokesperson of Microsoft has stated that the following update to come will be sometime around early 2021, but they made no specifications on when the updates will continue.
According to windowscentral, no such comment has been given for why they have decided on going for a delay, but the holidays seem to be one or the main reason for it. Just like any of the other companies within the industry, employees of Microsoft are also taking a break just to celebrate and relax during the holidays.
As soon as Microsoft releases another update, they would want people to be currently available just in case some issues will occur that would require to be fixed immediately. Since people take a break during the holidays, it’s a safe move to put everything to a pause until next year comes.
Since the Surface Duo won’t be receiving a single update within December, several updates have already occurred within the past months since its own launch, which is early this year.
The Surface Duo has gone very far despite no update for this month, since it’s been receiving updates every single month. It has changed so much and has grown a lot in quality and performance ever since it has been launched.
Whether or not the Surface Duo has received any updates during this December, it’s still deemed to be very useful and handy. Multitasking will not be a big problem for this since switching to apps would not be necessary; there are two screens. There would also not be much lag going on while switching through apps due to it being regulated; there are two screens.
A lot of time will be saved, and the user would not have to worry about the delay when switching. They could be doing both work and manage their contacts at the same time without worrying about switching.
Well, in general, having a dual screen option makes things more efficient and convenient, just like how the Surface Duo does that. The Surface Duo is not the only gadget that could be used just for its dual screen; a computer can too! If you don’t have a computer, maybe consider the ASUS ExpertCenter D500SA for a good performance and two of the same monitor such as the HP 24mh FHD Computer Monitor. You could even go for three monitors!
