First Six Months of 2021
Rumor has it that an event will be held by Apple in around March. With all the buzz on the AirPods 3, it won’t be too much of a surprise if they are released during this time. Another upgrade would be a more refreshing take on the iMac. It’s expected to have an Apple-engineered GPU as well as an Apple Silicon chip. Third, a new version of the iPad Pro. It may feature a mini-LED type of display and even a 5G chip.
Worldwide Developers Conference
Without fail, Apple holds the WWDC every single year. The software updates that are highly anticipated are: iOs5, macOS12, watchOS8, iPadOS 15, and tvOS8. There isn’t much known about the potential advancements, but news will come within the first few months of this year.
Second Half of the Year
In the fall, the newest edition to the iPhone family is expected to be released. The iPhone 13 is rumored to have four models in similar sizes as the previous iPhone. Even though the design is like the iPhone 12, there is a chance that the new model will have no port and entirely rely on wireless charging. There are display and camera improvements but nothing has been guaranteed.
Another iPhone to look forward to is the iPhone SE Plus. This upgraded version of the iPhone SE has no Face ID but a full-screen display. Hopefully, there’s a Touch ID power button and an approximated 6.1 inch screen.
Additionally, a new edition to the Apple Watch roster could come out this year. There has been a new Apple Watch introduced every year, and this one should be no different. Not much has been said about the Series 7, so news has yet to be heard.
Finally, redesigning the MacBook Pro. There are expected to be different screen sizes coming out this year. Instead of the existing sizes, a 14.1 inch and 16.1 inch screen are said to be in the works. These MacBook Pro’s could also have even slimmer bezels and mini-LED displays.
Apple Past 2021
Though unsure of a specific release date, AirTags may come out this year. The expectations started with the release of iOS 13’s Find My enabling the tracking of iOS and MacOS devices. Apple could come out with a tile-shaped Bluetooth tag that is attachable. There may even be Augmented Reality (AR) support in order to locate an item in the same room as users.
Of course, AR Smart Glasses are also something to look forward to. Input could be via voice activation, touch panels, or head gestures. The built-in processor, display, and reality operating system (rOS) are just a few features that Apple is focused on.
At last, Tesla’s future competitor: Apple Car. Analysts are predicting a fully autonomous Apple Car instead of just a software that is offered. The electric car advancements will take a few years and it’s expected to debut in 2023 or later.
An Apple Future
There is definitely a lot to look forward to for those invested in the Apple ecosystem. 2021 is just the beginning.
