Quite similar to Skyrim that had a cross-generation legacy, Grand Theft Auto has been able to endure some of the toughest competitions in gaming history. Thanks to GTA Online, Rockstar Games have been able to keep this massive title in the players’ hands.
According to the story reported by Unilad.co.uk, during the second half of 2021, the title is expected to receive yet another “expand and enhance” release for the PlayStation 5. With regards to this game’s 2020 success, it would be unfair to mention one thing that really helped the game pick up which is the ongoing pandemic for both consoles and the PC.

Digital gaming is said to be driven by the ever increasing number of gamers all buying direct to the console gamers. This includes the digital subscriptions as well as the downloadable content. This was reportedly the largest area of growth for this particular sector reportedly growing by a massive 16.3% up to £3.6 billion or over $4.8 billion back in 2020. The physical purchases of GTA V has reportedly increased by a whopping 4.6% to a massive £598.5 million or over $811.9 million.
GTA V has reportedly sold a whopping total of 1,127,222 copies altogether. This makes it the recorded third-highest selling title this 2020. The game was reportedly topped by the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War up in the second spot having sold a massive 1,420,353 units that were sold. FIFA 21 was reportedly the biggest-selling game of the year that sold a whopping 2,182,694 copies.
Overall, the entertainment revenue has reportedly increased by a massive 16.8% to £9.05 billion or about $12.28 billion. This has reportedly been the fastest growth rate ever since the records first began. This was with all of the digital services growing together by a whopping £1.4 billion or around $1.9 billion up to a record £7.8 billion or close to $10.6 billion.
