Samsung is reportedly going to try out something new soon. This new might not be good for everyone as smartphones would be shipped without chargers.
A lot of changes have been reported for Samsung as of recent regarding its upcoming smartphones lineup. The most important one of them is the mere fact that it had brought the S Pen to the recent S series.
Samsung chargerless smartphone package
According to the story by PhoneArena, another big change that deserves to be highlighted is the fact that the upcoming Samsung smartphones will be coming in with a lack of the phone’s charger from its retail package of the company’s new flagship phones reportedly the Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21+, and also the Galaxy S21 Ultra. It now appears that these particular changes will be expanded towards other Galaxy devices.
The expansion to other Galaxy devices does not just include the S Pen towards more smartphones and tablets but rather the lack of chargers and the popular earphones that used to be a really strong selling point. Apparently, the company now plans to ship even more of its upcoming smartphones all without a charger. This is a shocking move for Samsung.
In a certain statement that was earlier published within this week, TM Roh of Samsung had confirmed that his own company is now working towards gradually removing chargers from their smartphones. However, this isn’t the only news, aside from just the charger, buyers will reportedly not be receiving any more earphones as well.
According to the statement, it was said that the main gradual removal of both the charger plugs as well as the earphones from their in-box device packaging will be able to help address the sustainable consumption issues. This comes to remove certain pressure that the customers might feel towards having to continually receive a certain unnecessary charger accessory with their recently purchased phones.
Wireless fast charger not included
On the brighter side of things, the South Korean company is expected to launch at least two different fast wireless chargers within the coming weeks. While the chargers as of the moment are clearly a certain necessity for some smartphone users, the earphones are said to be more of a bonus that Samsung throws in in order to make the whole package even more appealing.
In conclusion, with Samsung’s timely exit of the free charger as well as the introduction of a new wireless fast charging charger, it could seem like users will be slowly converted into buying the wireless charger. It now seems like starting this year, Samsung users might have to buy both the phone and the charger separately if needed.
Earphones an optional
While some users are already deep into the whole wireless charging technology, a number of users are still more accustomed to using the classical plugged charger. Earphones, on the other hand, are a totally different story. While some people appreciate the free earphones, others would rather buy a higher quality earphone bought separately.
