It’s been almost ten years since Bethesda first released Skyrim, and it has since become a big part of pop culture. The big question is, however, is it still worth playing in 2021?
Since its release, Skyrim has garnered excellent reviews from websites such as IGN (9.5/10), and Trusted Reviews (5/5). It’s also one of the most played games of all time. There are still some people, however, who haven’t played it. If you’re still not sure if Skyrim is worth buying this year, we’ve got you covered.
Here are three things that make it a great game to play in 2021.
- Skyrim is moddable
It’s no question that over the years, Skyrim’s graphics seem a little dated. Even with the release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, the remastered version of the game, the visuals aren’t as stunning as recent releases such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or Final Fantasy XV. However, with mods made by the gaming community, you can mod Skyrim to make it look better than recent graphically stunning games!
With that in mind, the recently released EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Graphics Card will definitely not disappoint any gamer looking to beef up their gaming experience, graphics wise.
While there are other silly mods for Skyrim like changing the dragons’ appearances to various characters of the popular kids’ television show, Thomas and Friends, there are also mods to help with immersion such as dialogue mods and quest mods.
- Skyrim’s seemingly infinite amount of quests
Aside from the main story line, Skyrim also has a lot of side quests with captivating story lines. In almost every town in found in the game, there are various NPC’s who can give the player quests with great rewards.
With over 400 quests, including all of Skyrim’s DLC’s, and the infinite number of radiant quests the player can do, paying attention to the dialogue is important. With the Bose QuietComfort 35 Series 2 Gaming Headset, not only will you be able to hear everything the NPC’s have to say, but you will also be able to immerse yourself in Skyrim’s ambience and rich soundtracks.
- You can be whoever you want to be
Whether the player chooses to be a dagger wielding assassin or a war-hammer swinging brute, with Skyrim’s character customization, the player can create a character that best fits their play-style.
Unlike other games that lock a player’s gameplay and experience to a specific character or set of characters such as Grand Theft Auto V, in Skyrim, the player can choose to upgrade various skills as they progress, depending on how they want to play the game. The player can choose to upgrade skills such as the one-handed skill, which refers to how well the character handles weapons wielded with one hand, or the smithing skill, which refers to how good the character is at crafting different weapons and armors, and what type of weapons and armors the character is able to craft.
In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the sky (or in this case, the game’s level cap of 81 levels) is the limit.
