As the Apple Joint Venture small business program is about to come to an end, Apple introduces the AppleCare Help Desk Support. Apple is apparently sending communications to customers informing them of the company’s plan.
After running for about a decade, Apple is about to end its Joint Venture Support Program, says Michael Potuck of 9to5mac. This program was created back in 2011 to support small and medium-size businesses for them to survive, thrive and grow.
Small and medium-sized companies usually cannot afford to pay for good IT personnel with all the needed infrastructure to keep the business running smoothly.
Apple Joint Venture Support Program
The Program focuses on three Stages that include setting up, training, and staying running. Included in setting up is transferring of important data from old PCs to new ones. It also provides an equivalent of 6 hours of training sessions on how to use Apple products and services for the enterprise. And the last stage is the continued support from the company’s technical staff and expertise including diagnostic and troubleshooting to ensure that business will run smoothly.
According to Seth Weintraub of computerworld, businesses can find technical support regarding the following area:
- installation, repair and maintenance of computer hardware
- computer peripherals
- computer networks
- consumer electronic devices
- troubleshooting and diagnostic
- education and training services
- advisory and consultancy services
The cost of the program started at $499 and ran $99 for each additional support not covered by the contract.
The Joint Venture Support Program will come to a close on February 22, 2021, at 11:59 pm PST. Customers continue to have full access to the Program until its ending time. And the refund will be returned to customers for the remaining unused portion.
As the Joint Venture Program is about to end, Apple added a great business support alternative, the AppleCare Help Desk Support. AppleCare will carry over some of the most requested features from Joint Venture, including access to Apple’s senior technical support staff for 12 hours daily, every day of the week.
Potuck further said though that the information received was good for Joint Venture Customers in Australia, it is still unclear if the program will be ending across the world but it is likely to be so.
