Here comes Apple’s next computer, but not a computer
The iPad Pro 2020: Ever wanted to have a sleek and compact laptop where you can bring everywhere you want? Well, Apple has launched the best tablet one can have. They claim it to be with a blazing speed, long battery life, improved cameras, and track pad support. The Apple iPad Pro 2020 is the most powerful version of the iPad generation they created.
Here is a glimpse of iPad Pro 2020 features:
- The iPad Pro lasted over 10 hours while doing internet usage, which beat most Windows-powered 2-in-1s.
- The iPad Pro’s A12Z Bionic chip molds this as the fastest tablet and makes it more powerful than the Surface Pro 7.
- A new ultra-wide camera gives the iPad Pro 2020 more flexibility for camera lovers alike.
- The Magic Keyboard with a trackpad is a great accessory, and it might be quite expensive. There are other alternatives to choose from as long as it’s compatible with the iPad Pro 2020.
For the design, the iPad Pro 2020 is consistent, it’s available in 11 and 12.9-inch sizes with an all-screen design and an edge-to-edge display that doesn’t have a Home button. Like its predecessors, the iPad Pro 2020 features a TrueDepth camera system with a 7-megapixel camera for selfies. And a Face ID that uses facial recognition for biometric authentication.
However, with this new iPad, it doesn’t have a headphone jack nor a lightning port. The only port available is the single USB-C. The overall screen is elegant with its 2,732-by-2,048, 120Hz panel with 559 nits maximum brightness.
The new iPad Pro features an aluminum chassis in Space Gray or Silver with flat, rounded edges that envelop the Liquid Retina display. This kind of display is unmodified from the previous 2018 model, which features wide color support, a True Tone for adjusting to surrounding light, an anti-reflective coating, and its ProMotion 120Hzrefresh capabilities.
The Liquid Retina display on the iPad Pro 2020 is among the best screens on any device right now. It shows the vibrant, colorful, and ProMotion technology leverages for automatically adjusting the refresh rate up to 120Hz. The display is TrueTone technology, just like the iPad 2018, with a 120Hz fluid-scrolling display, and high-resolution pixel sharpness.
With the TrueTone display, it can reproduce the color quality of making viewing easier on the eyes, while it makes it feel slicker when scrolling makes navigating the tablet, and browsing websites and social media. The iPad Pro’s display emits an average brightness of 559 nits, which is brighter than the Surface Pro 7’s and Pro X which have 395 nits and 417 nits, respectively. What is still lacking though with the new model is the HDR playback.
The Performance and Features:
With the A12Z processor, the 2020 iPad Pro highlights its 10 hours battery life on a single charge. Apple securely includes the A12Z processor to offer an 8-core CPU and GPU which provides an enormous boost in graphic performance.
The 2020 iPad Pro works with the second-generation Apple Pencil that fastens to the iPad magnetically and self charges from a direct physical connection. The company has designed a specific Magic Keyboard for this new model. This is a recent version of the Smart Keyboard that’s supported with a track pad, back-lit keys, and a scissor-switch mechanism.
This Magic Keyboard features angle adjustments up to 130 degrees for smooth viewing and USB-C pass-through charging. The folio-like design is there to fold and protect the iPad when it’s not in use. As for the overall performance, the iPad Pro 2020 took only 34 seconds to export a 4K video to 1080p after administering some color filtrations and transitioning in the Adobe Rush app.
The Initial Verdict:
It’s obvious that with the recent release of the iPad Pro 2020, they improved the power inside, but it is still consistent with the screen and design from the previous iPads. And as a consumer, I would really consider making myself comfortable, especially during travel, so I will probably purchase one. However, I might find alternatives with its accessories.
