The next Resident Evil movie is said to be the Resident Evil reboot and is coming soon on Labor Day weekend!
The Resident Evil reboot release date is on September 3 or Labor Day this weekend according to Deadline. While the movie is still coming from Constantin Film, the known German production company that is said to be behind Paul W.S. Anderson’s adaptations, the story won’t be following Alice played by Milla Jovovich anymore.
Will there be a Resident Evil movie reboot?
The upcoming film is expected to faithfully follow the games much closely and will serve as a Resident Evil reboot of the franchise’s own movie series. Constantin had first revealed its original plans to make another original movie that was based on the games some time last year that will be along writer/director Johannes Roberts at its helm.
During that time, Roberts even stated that he actually wanted to go back towards the original first two games and even recreate the completely terrifying visceral experience that he had when he had first played them. This was while also telling a grounded human story that is about a small dying American time that would feel both relevant and relatable with today’s modern audience.
Resident Evil reboot Alice?
Unfortunately, however, the Deadline did not note HOW the upcoming movie is expected to be released. More and more film outfits are opting to make their own movies available for online streaming at the same time or even shortly after the theatrical release due to the massive effect of the pandemic on the industry.
Since the reboot is said to be under Sony in the United States, though, there is still a chance that it will initially go through the traditional theatrical release. The company is also sticking towards traditional theatrical distribution strategy according to Tony Vinquerra, Sony Pictures CEO’s previous statement to CNBC.
Theater or online streaming
It was noted that it has been working in the entertainment’s massive favor noting the real benefit has actually been the number of different incoming calls from creators, talents, actors, as well as directors telling them that they want to be doing business with them because they know that they are also a theatrical producer and distributor that has been working very well for them.
With streaming being a possibility, having a home theater by using a projector or a really good TV would be a better investment for those movie lovers. The LG OLED48CXPUB 48″ 4K Smart OLED TV would be a smart buy for those that also enjoy gaming and huge screens. For those wanting to emulate the movie theater experience, however, getting the BenQ TK850 True 4K HDR-PRO Projector would be a better option.
