Microsoft has recently confirmed the company’s plans to automatically uninstall the more popular old browser from users’ Windows 10 computer along with an update installing Microsoft Edge to those that don’t have it yet.
Microsoft has finally confirmed its plans to retire the previous first-generation version of its Microsoft Edge, the more ill-fated browser that initially launched with the Windows 10 during the 2015s to replace the previous Internet Explorer. Confusingly, the older Microsoft Edge web browser would be replaced with a newer browser with exactly the same name, according to the story by Express.co.uk.
What is the latest update of Windows 10?
The brand new version of the said Microsoft Edge browser will still be powered by the very same open-source Chromium code which also backs Google Chrome which holds 65% of all known desktop web traffic. In only less than a year ever since Microsoft had rolled out its brand new and also improved Microsoft Edge browser as part of the Windows 10 update, the browser is now the second-most popular browser available.
Clearly hoping to be able to capitalize on what was referred to as this early success, Microsoft is reportedly now moving towards purging the previous version. The previous version was built utilizing the company’s very own technology and was also really slow compared to both Safari and Chrome for different PCs all around the world.
What is difference between Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer?
From April 13, Microsoft will also release a new monthly security patch for the Microsoft Windows 10 that will actually uninstall the other previous unpopular Microsoft Edge coming from any other PCs that still use the old browser on their personal hard-drive. It was also noted that if someone would be able to avoid the updated version of the said browser, the upcoming April 13 update will then still install the new browser onto users’ computers.
For those that are still happy with using Chrome, Opera, or even Mozilla Firefox, the update might be quite annoying especially since it takes up a lot of space on the users’ device. However, Microsoft is really positive about the Microsoft Edge browser, specifically the new version although still holding the same name.
It ‘s important to note the difference between Microsoft Edge and the Internet Explorer is the way that they are coded, programmed, their features, and their functions.
For those that are okay with Microsoft Edge, this update would be a very pleasing surprise but for those that aren’t the update can be quite annoying. With more space needed, having an external hard drive would help the computer run faster. There are two options for good extra storage namely the Seagate Game Drive 2TB External Hard Drive and the WD 1TB Portable External Hard Drive depending on people’s needs.
