Apple is reportedly adding a new feature that is popular with the iPhone 12, the flat edges.
After Apple’s very own in-house M1 chipset has received positive feedback coming from its customers, the company will now reportedly be focusing on even more powerful Mac products. The Apple MacBook Pro and Apple MacBook Pro 16 are two of the expected upcoming Apple products to roll out this year.
Apple MacBook Pro flat edge design
According to the story by XDA-developers, it is now being said that the upcoming Apple MacBook Pro lineup could reportedly be adding certain design inspirations that come from the company’s current-gen Apple iPhone 12. According to Ming-Chi Kuo’s statement in an article by MacRumors, in terms of the upcoming casing design, the newer models will cancel the more curvy design of the current existing models. It was also stated that the top and bottom parts will host a flat edge form design that would be similar to those of the iPhone 12.
The current iPhone 12 series, which was reportedly introduced back in October some time last year even came with a refreshing design having flat edges as opposed to those seen on the Apple iPad Pro models and the newer iPad Air which has reportedly made its debut last year. The design is said to be a throwback to the previous flat-sided design of the earlier iPhone 4.
MacBook Pro 14 and 16
As of the moment, it looks like Apple is making moves to expand the upcoming MacBook Pro notebooks. For those that have tried out the recent Apple MacBook Pro models, it is known that the flat edges are already flat. However, inspecting them closely would still see a slight curve on them.
Apple will reportedly make the edges flatter and sharper. However, Bloomberg’s very own Mark Gurman would still suggest otherwise and note that the upcoming MacBook Pro models might look similar to the other current models having only a few design changes. Some previous reports have reportedly stated that the upcoming 16-inch and 14-inch Apple MacBook Pro models might be re-introducing the use of the classic SD card slot in an attempt to target creative professionals who mostly need to handle massive video footage or photos.
The Apple iPhone 12 has become a huge success and with the few things that Apple did extremely right, it seems fair enough that they would incorporate it into their new Apple MacBook Pro as well. However, things could change until Apple officially announces that everything is solid and that the units are already there.
