After launching the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi 11 in the Republic of China. Finally, the Xiaomi Mi 11 goes to the European market.
Xiaomi Mi 11 was the first to feature Qualcomm’s new SoC, combined with the impressive QHD+ 120Hz display, a 180MP triple camera feature, and much more. According to Pranob Mehrotra of xda-developers, here are some important specifications to note regarding the device.
The device comes with a stunning 6.81-inch QHD+ AMOLED display that has a refresh rate of 120Hz. The display shows a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels with 515 ppi pixel density. Featuring a hole-punch cutout in the upper left corner for the selfie camera and fingerprint scanner that serves as a heart rate sensor.
The Mi 11 has a design that is similar to its previous models, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. All corner edges are curved with a 1.8mm metal frame giving it an elegant look and nice feel. The display screen is protected with Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus that offers 2m drop protection and delivers double the scratch resistance of its predecessors.
Customers have two options to choose from on the back panel design, either the frosted matte finish that makes it soft to touch or the vegan leather finish. The frosted matte finish has 3 color variants to choose from: Frost White, Horizon Blue, and Midnight Gray. While the vegan leather finish has two available color options: Lilac Purple or Honey Beige.
SoC, RAM, and Storage
The Xiaomi Mi 11 features Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset. And combined with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB ROM.
Xiaomi Mi 11’s Cameras
The device offers a decent triple camera at the back, that features 108MP for the primary camera, and 13MP for the secondary ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. It uses Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright HMX 108MP sensor for the primary camera giving excellent results.
The primary 108MP f/1.85 camera brags of a 1/1.33” sensor that generates images with large enough 1.6µm pixels. The secondary camera has a range of 123° FoV, and the macro camera can go closer about 3cm from the subject. As to the front camera, the device offers a single 20MP f/2.2 selfie shooter that also produces Super 1.6µm 4-in-1 Pixel images.
Battery and Charging
The Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with a 4,600mAh battery that supports both the 50W wireless fast charging and 55W for wired fast charging. The device also has a 10W reverse wireless charging for other devices to charge. In the China market, Xiaomi removed the charger from the box as it tries to follow in the footsteps of Apple. With the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888’s integrated Snapdragon X60 modem-RF system, the Mi 11 supports 5G Connectivity.
