Details regarding an upcoming new mid-range Sony phone might have just leaked online. Introducing the Sony Xperia 10 III.
According to the story from TechRadar, Sony might be coming up with a brand new benchmark that could give potential customers a peaking glimpse into what might actually be powering the said handset. The interesting thing is that the upcoming phone is thought to be the said Sony Xperia 5 III from Sumahoinfo, with the codename A003SO shown in a new listing on Geekbench 5. The list then notes that the device actually has 6GB of RAM as well as equipped with the Android 11 software on the board. What about the Sony Xperia 10 III?
Which is the best Sony Xperia?
Other more recent leaks also suggest that the upcoming Sony Xperia 10 III will reportedly be powered by a new mid-range Qualcomm 690 5G chipset. However, the listing still does not specify the actual chipset, the other benchmark scores achieved are also in line with this.
The upcoming Sony Xperia II actually came along with a standard 4GB of RAM. This could be a notable step for the known mid-range series coming from Sony. The phone, however, wasn’t 5G-equipped so this could be the very first phone in the series that doesn’t really support next-gen connectivity.
Is Sony Xperia worth buying?
The phone is expected to be launching some time this 2021. This could also be announced alongside Sony’s upcoming next flagship phone. A previous leak also suggests that the Sony Xperia 10 III would actually land some time earlier in comparison to Sony’s very own flagship though and that potential customers will be able to hear about it this coming February 2021.
While the month is almost over, it might seem like Sony could be planning to launch its known handset at maybe a later date. With this being said, the article from TechRadar also notes that it’s quite normal for the company to reveal their upcoming new phones some time in either February or March. This might mean that customers might be hearing a little more about the upcoming Sony phone very soon in the following month.
The previous Sony Xperia 5 II was previously an okay hit and with the upcoming Xperia phone, Sony might just be able to replicate the success. Of course, smartphones are also becoming more competitive so even if Sony is able to roll out a good phone, this won’t really matter much unless the company can beat its competition. Another cool phone to check out is the Sony Xperia XA1 which could be lighter on the wallet compared to most of the other phones.
