In a previous discussion between Joe Rogan and Marques Brownlee, the conversation focused on the topic of old Apple devices by default being slowed down to save the battery.

A lot of people do not know that when Apple releases a brand new device, the company reportedly slows down the older device and doesn’t really give users an option as to whether sacrifice the CPU or sacrifice the battery. While this is something that a lot of people don’t really know, Apple has reportedly addressed this now giving users an option to pick between slowing down the battery or slowing down the CPU.
Apple slows down your device
In a recent podcast with Marques Brownlee on the Joe Rogan Experience JRE Clips channel on YouTube, the two tackled the topic of Apple previously defaulting to slowing down CPU units to save battery instead of the other way around. While Marques Brownlee noted that Apple had now changed that when they had been caught, he had also noted that users won’t be able to immediately change the setting unless they look for it.
Marques Brownlee noted that the company still defaults to saving the device’s battery by underclocking its chips. This means that the phones will slow down immediately when a brand new phone comes out. Marques Brownlee noted that the company wants to assure users that they can use their phones longer and this is why the company slows down the battery while preserving battery life.
Apple iOS
Going to the positive side, Joe Rogan noted that he really admires the Apple OS or the iOS. One thing that Joe Rogan notably said that one thing that he did not admire with Apple is the keypad which is why he switched to Lenovo.
One thing that Marques Brownlee noted is that consumers should really listen closely to Apple and read between the lines. Since Apple claims that the laptops are quieter and thinner, this does not necessarily mean that the keyboard is better and easier for its users to use.
While the podcast was previously done in 2018, the topic resurfaces again as a lot of users are still unaware as to whether their device really slows down once a brand new Apple iPhone or other Apple products would come out.

While the topic has reportedly mellowed out and Apple becoming the top smartphone seller in the world again as of Q4 of 2020, the company’s new Apple iPhone 12 as well as the Apple MacBook Air are two interestingly new devices that have caught the attention of others not that familiar with Apple products to begin with. These two products have reportedly been a good selling point of the company as of recent.
