Followers of the legendary duo Daft Punk are sad following their breakup. Yet they’ll be amazed to hear they’ve had a video game in the past based on them.
It was recently, when James Mielke shared his encounters with Daft Punk that the shocking details came out. Mielke is the manufacturer of a game originally based on the musical couple. But it did not be because of their packed lifestyle more than ten years ago.
The project then finished with a name named Lumines: Symphony of Electronics.
Daft Punk: Their game story!
James Mielke recently posted his experiences on his Twitter account while thinking about a musical band. He said he had approached Daft Punk for a video game feature. Interestingly, they likewise approved the plan.
The French couple, though, were busy producing Tron: Legacy’s music at the time. So they finally refused to be a part of it.
Mielke said that his gaming project concerned the band very much. He also disclosed, though, that Daft Punk didn’t want to include their old songs in it. Instead, for the PS Vita game, they decided to make new songs. And because they didn’t have the right time to do it, they opted to skip it.
“What I wanted to do was put the player in the cockpit of Daft Punk’s pyramid-shaped DJ booth that they tour with, and—as Daft Punk—rock the crowd by performing big combos in Lumines,” James wrote in his blog from 2012 for Gamasutra.
The proposals were extensive, thinking of the ambitious title itself, which then became Lumines: Electronic Symphony. All will be planned according to the French couple, whether it be the songs, HUD, or the setting.
They dropped their last album, Epilogue, earlier this week.
Social media honoring the legacy of the band
Meanwhile, following Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter’s sudden breakup, every music lover is still angry. With heartfelt posts, people are continually sharing their responses on social media. They also share the band’s favourite tracks from the past.
Beyond the demise of Daft Punk, renowned film icons have shared their opinions. Although recalling the wonderful songs by the band, other users have expressed their sorrow.
What are your views on the wonderful divide of the founders of the French duo? For the last two decades, have you been one of a million followers of Daft Punk? What was your favorite album from their discography, or the track?
