Usually, each year around 150,000 attendees who are technology trends followers join the world’s biggest tech show, CES. This year the CES is somewhat unique because of the COVID-19 pandemic it is done virtually.
What remains is that CES continues to showcase the latest business technology trends with new technological innovation that is coming up. Technology businesses like cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), analytics, loT, and 5G support all those gadgets and smart devices.
Whether one is a business leader, IT worker, developer, or business professional, everyone needs to understand how new technologies work. And how will these innovative technologies affect companies, communities, and vocation, says Bill Detwiler of ZDNet.
At the recent CES 2021, there are at least three big trends that tech people should give attention to:
1. Health, wellness and safety technology trends
As COVID vaccinations have been ramping up across the world, it is anticipated that office buildings and public gathering spaces will soon reopen. Travel will increase and normal life as many people long for will hopefully return.
However, the normalcy may now have a new face that many people call the new normal. It will be marked by more hybrid working environments, growing reliance on e-commerce and delivery-based services, increased usage of physical and mental health monitoring devices, and a lot of newer innovations to help people cope with the situation. The IT industry will surely have a vital role in the development, deployment, and support of all these technological innovations of which many have been showcased during the recent CES.
2. Technology trends that can help connect work and personal lives.
As more and more people stay home for work, tech developers and manufacturers are increasingly coming up with devices to facilitate a smooth transition between work and play. And they are aggressively marketing this functionality to the end-users and business decision-makers.
As people put more weight on privacy, security, and connectivity considerations in the devices, IT stakeholders should give more attention to this trend very closely. And the CES is certainly the place where these innovative technologies are being showcased.
3. 5G connectivity trend
The 5G connectivity became the talk of the town last year, more devices other than smartphones and iPhones are coming up that support 5G connectivity. However, the 5G will not replace the current 4G infrastructure at least in the near future. More people get attracted to 5G because of its high bandwidth and low latency. It can provide almost real-time connectivity for SCADA systems, loT devices, drones, and autonomous vehicles especially when it is combined with edge computing.
5G can support more devices than the 4G given the same area, which makes it more as more devices now need network connections. So, to put it simply, 5G will usher many of the technological developments that are coming out along the way.
