Buying a computer on a budget means making smart decisions. Every dollar has to be spent wisely which is why looking for certain specs is very important.

There are a lot of things to factor in when buying a computer. It is important to decide which parts are more important than others. This would allow the buyer to come up with a complete list of what is more important than the rest. In fact, the buyer might even be able to have a unit assembled for them which is usually much cheaper.
What is the computer going to be used for?
Different uses have different spec requirements. This is why it is very important to understand how the computer will be used in order to come up with the perfect setup.
- Work (not file heavy)
An example of this is jobs that require constant contact with the client. For apps that function mostly realtime, having good RAM is important. Especially if they are multitasked.
- Work (file heavy)
For those types of work that require storing a huge amount of data like a secretary, having an HDD could be beneficial since they are cheaper. Although an SSD runs faster, these can be quite expensive especially if the user is on a budget. Having an SSD for the applications and an HDD for the drive could be the best move to get the best of both worlds.
- Games
For those that are really into games, having a good video card is important. While the Nvidia might be more popular, AMD actually has a few substitutes that can do almost the same.
- Sound design
For sound design, aside from good headphones, having massive RAM is very important. Rendering files take time especially if they are big which is why they must be saved in an SSD. If the buyer were to choose however between massive RAM and no SSD or medium RAM and a little SSD, it is better to go for the latter.
- Video editing
Video editing is very tricky since it requires a decent graphics card, good RAM, and SSD. One trick is to hold back just a little bit on the GPU and invest on a good monitor. Although this might still be expensive, it is probably the best way to cut down a couple of dollars.

For those interested in buying a good computer, the first thing to ask is how powerful the CPU should be. Should there be a need for a high-powered CPU, the Ryzen 7 3700X might be a good choice. One of the best GPUs in the market right now is the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090. For those with the extra budget, this would be a good pick.
