Apple is rumored to be focusing on growing the iPhone 13’s internal storage to 1TB as the highest-end edition for 2021.
Apple workers are geared up for a busy year of transformation ahead. The 2021 iPad Pro will be released later this month, kicking off the year. The organization is yet to announce whether or not it will host an event with it.
The announcement of the iPad Pro will be followed by WWDC 2021 in June. After that, Apple’s busiest quarters starts. It is expected to announce the new version of Apple Silicon MacBooks and the next iPhone.
Apple’s new phone’s official name is also up for discussion. Some speculate that it will be an iPhone 12s, and others suspect that it will be an iPhone 13.
Is It iPhone 12s or iPhone 13 With 1TB Storage?
Whatever the new name is, rumours say it would have a storage space of up to 1TB. The internal storage space is reportedly 512GB. This feature is also exclusive to iPhone 12 Pro models.
The basic iPhone 12 has a maximum space of just 256GB. Suppose the 1TB storage rumor is right. In that case, Apple will increase the potential internal storage of the next standard iPhone to 512GB. As a result, the Pro models have the option of increasing their storage capacity.
Naturally, improved internal storage means a rise in the selling price. The iPhone 12 Pro with 512GB of storage costs $1,299 now. The iPhone 12 Pro Max with 512GB has a price tag of USD 1,399.
The extra memory capacity of up to 1TB could drive the retail prices of these two Pro models up by $100 to $150.
The new features are also a mystery.
Apple has been tight-lipped about the new specifications and functionality so far. After all, it’s only a few months out. Nonetheless, there are a lot of theories circulating about Apple’s latest handset.
For instance, Apple’s iPhone could eventually support a 120Hz ProMotion show. This feature has been available on the iPad Pro since 2017, so it would be a welcome update if it makes it to the next iPhone.
Second, TouchID can be provided in any way on the iPhone. Apple can implement TouchID in the same way that the iPad Air does, with the wake button also serving as a power button and a fingerprint scanner. An in-screen fingerprint reader is another way to get TouchID on the next iPhone. The first will be harder to execute, but the latter will be much more fun to work on.
Finally, with the MagSafe adapter, the next iPhone will allow faster wireless charging. According to recent reviews, the technology also has potential for development. Nonetheless, it seems that this is the only way to go portless in the long term.
