Google is coming up with new features for the device within the coming few months. The upgrades are being developed to help improve the daily functionality of the Android Smartphone. It also further security measurements for the user’s protection.
In a post of a blog, Google laid down six interesting changes that will take place soon for users globally to enjoy. Here are six of them:
1. The capability to schedule the sending of a text message.
To better communicate and to stay in touch, the new feature will allow one to make text messages while it is convenient and schedule the preferred time of sending. This feature can be enjoyed by users of Android 7 and higher.
2. Important change when saving passwords on the Smartphone.
While users can already save passwords to their Google account, the new features make it easier as it uses Autofill to sign in to apps and services. The logins are the first line of defense against hackers, so the Password Checkup is already being integrated to Android 9 and above users. This feature allows one to know whether the password used has been exposed and gives guidance on what to do about it.
3. Google Maps to have a Dark Mode.
This will be eye-friendly when trying to navigate the Google Maps using the dark mode to be available worldwide soon. Just go to the ‘Settings’, tap on ‘Theme’ and the ‘Always in Dark Theme’ option. This will bring down the lights as one explores, navigates, or does anything with Google Maps.
4. Assistant in new features
Nothing beats like having an assistant to do what one says. Just say “Hey Google, play love songs from Spotify” or “Hey Google, tell me how to go to the airport (or to any destination for that matter).”
5. New features: Android’s screen reader
This is particularly helpful for the blinds or for those who are struggling to see the display. The latest version of TalkBack which is the Android’s screen reader is already available to use. TalkBack makes Android more accessible without the need to look at the screen.
6. New features to help users enjoy driving more
Allowing users to choose from a variety of car-inspired backgrounds. One can customize and make the car display on screen to be more personalized. When having a long-distance drive, everyone can be entertained with voice-activated games just like having a trivia. Just say, “Hey Google, play a game” to begin the fun. Shortcut on the launch screen has also been launched. This will make it more convenient to access one’s contacts and even allows one to use the Assistant feature to complete tasks like for instance checking the weather condition.
