Recently, smart glasses have been coming out to the market showing potential to be the future’s gadget darling. Will the potential be sustainable moving forward? Or will it be just a fad that comes and goes?
The potential of smart glasses is a bit interesting, a lot of possibilities can happen. Imagine looking and doing a lot of stuff on one’s glasses that are normally done on the laptop or smartphone. For example, visualize going into a place and the smart glasses will pop out its menu. Then one can take a picture and send it to friends with the direction of one’s location. No need to use a smartphone.
Smart Glasses can do some of what can be done on laptop or smartphones
And when inside, while waiting for someone, one can do editing of documents on a virtual screen and keyboard. No need to carry a laptop that is sometimes bulky to carry.
Such is the potential of smart glasses. Vuzix, one of the major developers of smart glasses since 2011, has a line-up of choices according to industry solutions. And they are bent to come up with more upgrades this year moving forward..
2021 Vuzix AR Glasses
Those glasses offer integration with smartphones, immersive sound, and micro-LED projectors that can provide the images one sees. Also, they will offer the biggest showcase feature of the next-generation glasses which is the augmented reality (AR). AR combines what is seen in the real world with virtual reality to see the combined 3D perspective.
Andy Peacock, a YouTube vlogger, has already tried the new 2021 Vuzix AR Glasses while it is not yet launched. And he said that getting one’s phone from the pocket to check something is already a thing of the past.
The good thing about Vuzix’s upcoming smart glasses is that it looks like regular glass, unlike other smart glasses that look odd.
Facebooks’ Ray Ban Smart Glasses
Facebook also has announced that it is working on a smart glass to be launched within this year. It will also come with augmented reality features as well.
In a blog post, Facebook said that it will be exciting to see smart glasses with a stylish look and lightweight. More so, the glasses will replace the need for a computer or smartphone. The company discusses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help navigate the world around and 3D virtual information within one’s reach.
Included in the pipeline, Facebook will be releasing Ray-Ban Smart Glasses anytime this year. The company has been working closely with its partner Luxottica.
Apple is secretly working on AR glasses
Apple too is apparently working on the AR glasses. Although no official information has come out yet. Apple seems to prefer working it out secretly for the time being. Apple will just unveil its AR glasses when the right time comes.
