Console games are adored by everyone, and most of the avid gamers are familiar with the super games created by Sega and Konami. And two of the classic console games were Sonic and Contra, and the infamous Super Mario.
You won’t surely miss these games which became part of your childhood years. However, an update was shared that the Japanese Gaming company Sega and Kanami will be acquired by Microsoft soon. If this happens, then it will be one of the biggest advancements in the world of gaming.
Sega and Konami
Microsoft is proven to look for good acquisitions to have a quality development of it’s brand, Xbox. The users witnessed it when the company, Zenimax Media, which owned the ID Software Bethesda Soft works was bought for a tremendous amount of $7.5 Billion. This only proves that Microsoft is not afraid of making big steps about developing of it’s gaming brand, Xbox.
It is expected that Microsoft will have the liberty to get access to the world of Sega, and it’s professional knowledge and experience in the console industry once the purchase of the company is done. The Tokyo-based company has experienced struggles recently, unlike in it’s glorious days when it’s games were popular to most players. Two of the famous IP games from Konami, Silent Hill and Metal Gear, will also help on it’s advancement if this will be finalized, according to the story by Techno Sport.
However, at this moment this is only one of the rumors in the gaming industry. It is still unsure that Microsoft sees value in the Japanese gaming market, which the notable rival Sony originated. Only 1,508 units of the Xbox Series and S and 10 Xbox One consoles of the Redmond Company were sold in the last week of February 27. This proves that the company’s sales are in it’s critical position already.
And in the same week, a total of 3,249 PS4 consoles were acquired, and Japanese gamers were said to purchase a total of 33,792 PS5 machines, and 78,134 Nintendo Switch devices as well. It looks like the popular Xbox gaming console is not that special in the Japanese gaming industry.
This will only prove that the decision of buying Konami and Sega would not just make Xbox secure its place in Japan, but would also catch the attention of millions of fans of the two companies worldwide who are playing an Xbox console.
Sega and Konami are two truly classic companies that have been producing massively successful games through the years. To play their retro games, a Nintendo mini family computer might be a good console to pick. Of course, for the more modern gamers, the Nintendo Switch is still a good choice.
