The Airship is finally coming to Among Us soon! Moreover, the new map isn’t the only thing coming, as the developers have added more to the game!

Innersloth finally announced the release date of the big update, which is on March 31st. Aside from the most anticipated Airship map, the Among Us patch notes state how the developers have also done a massive rework on the way accounts are made in the game, as well as how Innersloth manages them.

Indeed, the new map coming in the new update is what players are the most excited about; however, the fixes on the account system are also something to look forward to. The developers made a few tweaks in order to improve the game’s safety and security for the players. Hence, besides the fixes in the new update, transferring skins between devices and a friend system will be expected in the future, as stated by Innersloth.

Among Us Patch Notes

Here are the key points from the patch notes released by the developers:

Report System. Players can now report other players acting inappropriately, which will be read by people. Punishments range from temporary account bans to permanent account bans, including alternate accounts.
Parental Guidance on Free Chat. Children under the age of digital consent need a guardian/parent’s consent to change display name or take part in the free chat.
Create an Account. Creating an account enables you to change your display name and chat freely.
Guest Mode. If you don’t have an account, you cannot change your display name and you can only communicate with the Quick Chat.
Non-Exclusive Usernames. More than one person can have the exact same username.
Code of Conduct. Innersloth will provide guidelines of the behavior it expects from its players. Violating this can result in bans when reported.

With these changes, the developers hope for better gameplay and a safer place for all Among Us players.

Quick Chat

According to the developers, they included the account system and the Quick Chat to serve as an age gate in the game. Besides complying with global requirements, these features are being included in an effort to protect children while playing by requiring a guardian/parent’s consent to access the free chat and change display names.

Airship Skin Pack

Besides the new Airship map and account system elaborated in the Among Us patch notes, the game will include more cosmetic options on the 31st of March. The new update will include two free of charge hats (a unicorn hat and angry eyebrows). Moreover, besides the free Airship map, you can purchase an Airship Skin Pack, which includes 13 hats and 3 skins, many of which were displayed in the Airship trailer.
