League of Legends is joining the April Fool‘s month wagon since it is expected to release some new updates that may be legit, while others are rumored to be pranks. Previously, LoL also participated in 2020’s April Fool’s Day.
League of Legends’ previous prank is the recently introduced champion called Pingu. At first, players were excited about it since it is a very unique hero. However, they later found out that this champion is a fake one since it is Riot’s entry for the previous April Fool’s day.

Aside from this, there was also the popular mode called URF or Ultra-Rapid-Fire. This mode of League of Legends always comes back every 1st of April, and it had done it for the past few seasons. The unusual mode is really fun since the players can use their skills without draining their mana. Aside from this, the fans will also have an 80% cool-down reduction.
This means the League of Legends player can use their heroes’ abilities almost every time. This is why most users are playing champions with stunning or slowing abilities that can last for a very long period. These include Lux, Morgana, Singe, and more. URF mode is really accurate during April Fool’s month since you can troll your teammates and enemies at the same time.
League of Legends April Fool’s details
Rumors stated that Pingu could once again try to enter the Summoner’s Rift since it wasn’t released in League of Legends previously in April 2020. Riot claimed that this champ could be the fluffiest and cuddliest heroes in LoL.
However, it seems like the game’s developer will really release Pingu and replace URF the Manatee, which is the current official mascot of the popular strategic title. Aside from this, Riot could also make URF mode available once again. However, this mode is expected to be exclusive in Summoner’s Rift for co-op vs. AI and normal matches.
On the previous URF modes of the game, three champions are banned for both teams. After that, they will be provided with random heroes that they can use. If they don’t like the champion, all they need to do is roll the dice, if ever there’s an available one.
When it comes to skins, Riot didn’t confirm if it will release new ones in the game since the players are really satisfied with the latest Space Groove Skins. However, if the title’s developer suddenly decided to release April Fool’s skins, they are expected to be related to the latest Space Groove cosmetics.
On the other hand, the game also teased four mushrooms on its Twitter account. Riot said that “someone left some tasty mushrooms to munch on! Nothing suspicious about that. Pick one!” Some players claim that these shrooms could be hints to the upcoming April Fool’s skins or champions. The latest tweet also allows the players to pick one of the mushrooms.
Best champions to use for trolling
Aside from waiting for Riot’s new content, you can also fool your enemies and even your teammates by using these champs. These heroes could cancel your friends’ escape plan, make your enemies chase you until they die, and more. Here are some of them;
- Teemo
- Trundle
- Singe
- Anivia
- Nidalee
