Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is on the way! Every year, Samsung releases a more affordable Fan Edition version of its flagship S series phones, and it appears that 2021 will be no exception.
The letters “Fan Edition” at the end of the phone’s name stand for “value for money,” and this version typically provides a “value for money” experience by cutting some corners to keep the price down.
Steve Hemmerstoffer, also known as @OnLeaks on Twitter, has scored yet another exclusive leak.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition is set to launch in the coming months and should provide excellent value for money for users looking for an alternative to the standard, but more expensive Galaxy S21.
It will have similar looks and results to its more costly stablemates, but will come with cost-cutting steps to keep its price down, much like the 2020 Galaxy S20 FE.
The new photos, unsurprisingly, do not display many design changes from the Samsung Galaxy S21 series.
The Galaxy S21 FE will feature a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400, which is slightly larger than the Galaxy S21’s 6.2-inch panel. The FE version, like the Galaxy S21, will feature a focused punch-hole selfie camera called the Infinity-O by Samsung. Although both devices have the same screen size, the Galaxy S21 FE has a larger overall size. The Galaxy S21 FE’s larger screen complements its larger overall size (while both devices have the same thickness, the FE model is 4mm taller and 3.3mm wider).
The rear camera module is now more incorporated into the back shell rather than projecting from the metal frame on the edge, which means it’s the same color as the phone’s back for a more uniform look. The punch hole selfie camera will remain on the front of the handset. The cameras on the Galaxy S21 FE, like the Galaxy S20 FE, are expected to be reduced in comparison to the standard Galaxy S21.
It also appears that Samsung will use the same glass-and-plastic material mix on the back as the Galaxy S21 – dubbed ‘glasstic’ by the company. Despite the fact that the Galaxy S21 has a glass back, it has a metal frame and a metal rear camera housing. The camera housing in the render appears to be made of the low-cost glasstic as well, reducing costs. Similarly, it appears that the regular Galaxy S21’s exterior metal frame has been replaced with a cheaper metal subframe.
The Snapdragon 888 is supposed to be used in the US, China, and international 5G versions, so there will be no compromises in terms of performance. The excellent Exynos 2100 can be used in even the 4G Galaxy S21 FE versions
The phone is expected to have 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage. The Galaxy S21 FE will have a triple-camera system on the rear, which matches the number of snappers seen on the Galaxy S21. However, the lenses on the Galaxy S21 FE will undoubtedly be of lower quality. The Galaxy S20 FE was published last year for $699, so we could see a similar price for this year’s edition.
