Popular singer-rapper Cardi B has expressed her opinion about ‘defunding the police.’ Her thoughts, the United States ‘needs cops and that’s a fact.’ The tweet went viral until it was deleted right after.

On Thursday, April 15, Daily Mail UK reported WAP rapper Cardi B.’s official Twitter account posted her personal opinion about the viral phrase, ‘defund the police.’ The popular singer-rapper answered back against one of her followers saying she thinks that police force is an important aspect in the federal government.

Therefore, the need to fund them should not be criticize by anyone. After her tweet went viral with several people pointing out against her opinion, the rapper then deleted her tweet and replaced it with number of tweets, highlighting police brutality.

Cardi B.s police talk went viral

A man named Sam Son Soulash with a twitter account of @fentymiletti, tweeted the commonly-used phrase, ‘Defund the police’ on his Twitter account. Suddenly, Cardi B answered back against his tweet, on a retweet, by explaining how she’s against the said proposal. In her words:

“That’s bu*****t,” Cardi B responded. “We need cops and that’s facts we just need strict laws for cops. If you shot someone just like civilians you will go to jail that same day, get charge, wait for bond and go to trial. That will make you think twice about shooting anyone.”

As expected, the rapper’s answer against the Twitter user went viral on the same day. Most of the people that commented on her post says that Cardi B doesn’t understand the phrase, ‘defund the police.’ The man that posted the original ‘defund the police’ phrase then retweeted Cardi B’s answer and explained to her the difference of ‘defunding the police,’ versus abolishing the police force, entirely.

“Cardi. Defund the police does NOT mean ABOLISH the police. It means reallocating all the money from the police to local municipalities. To social workers. Housing, education, employment, mental health care, and youth services. Stop sending military weapons used in war to police,” tweeted @fentymiletti.

Tweet now deleted

As the tweet went viral on the same day of Thursday, Cardi B was also forced to delete the tweet. Still, some of her fans defended her opinion and sided with the rapper, while most of them refuses to take sides with Cardi.

“Love to see cardi b utilize common sense with respect to this issue. ‘defund and abolish’ is not a solution to corruption in law enforcement,” tweeted one follower.

Another user tweeted “What the hell is this” over a screen shot of the rapper’s tweet and then wrote: “Y’all said ‘abolish’ was too harsh and the comprise [sic] was ‘defund’ so what up? Why are your gums still flapping.”

Cardi B’s side in police brutality

Surprisingly, it is rare for Cardi B to voice out her opinions over public matters. Although, prior to her tweet, she raised her concerns about the recent incident with black man, Daunte Wright versus police force.

‘We have seen a young man get killed by a cop, unarmed, and the excuse was the cop that had been on duty for 20-plus years, mistaked [sic] a gun for a taser,’ Cardi B said in the video.
