Honda joins the efforts of Tesla, General Motors, and other EV manufacturers to help save the planet through green energy, which will power the electric vehicles they manufacturer.
As of the moment, Tesla is the leading giant EV manufacturer when it comes to offering clean electric energy for cars. Thanks to Elon Musk’s efforts, various electric vehicle giants were also influenced by his technology.
And now, Honda wants to enter the EV market. The giant car developer announced its new project called e:PROGRESS. This program is expected to be the most advanced home charging solution form.
Honda, the Europe-based automobile manufacturer, said that its innovation consists of a connected charger that is paired with intelligent software developed by Moixa, which is a charging specialist company.
Aside from this, Honda explained that the software it received from Moixa can organize a charging schedule based on drives’ requirements to make sure that their cars are sufficiently charged at all times. Users can do this while relying on low-priced clean energy.
Honda’s new home charging solution
As of the moment, the power of the EVs in the United Kingdom is provided by Octopus Energy, a U.K.-based electricity supplier. It relies on the country’s first dynamic tariff. The flexible tariff can be applied to the residence as well as the car and allows users to access lower-priced electricity during renewable-heavy, off-peak hours.
Now, this is where car manufacturer’s Moixa software comes in since it plays a significant role as it chooses the most cost-effective time to charge the Honda e, monitoring price changes that can occur every 30 minutes.
The result is an estimated £475 saved annually compared to the standard tariff. The recommended charger to be used for the service is the car manufacturer’s Power Charger S+ (4G), which will be integrated with e:PROGRESS to allow timely access to low-cost electricity.
Aside from this, the car manufacturer’s new e:PROGRESS is guaranteed to be a swift and easy process, with clients being able to check their eligibility online and British Gas carrying out the installation process to ensure customers receive a quality nation-wide service and responsive after-sales support.
Additionally, the car manufacturer’s e:PROGRESS is believed to support active grid management. It is also expected to help stabilize demand and optimize the use of renewable energy.
Various experts and analysts in the EV industry said that the car manufacturer’s new home charging solution could be followed by innovations that will further help its consumers to have clean energy without spending too much money. They added that it is a step closer to achieve the car developer’s 2030 vision of being a company that provides new value through branching out into areas such as energy services.
