With the latest launch of Chrome 90, three new features greet its users. Learn more about them now!
Available in Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux, Google Chrome is one of the most popular and widely used browsers currently in existence. Google brings each update with new features to ensure that the different needs of each user are catered to.
The release of Chrome 90 is no different; Google has added the following features, and without a doubt, these new additions are sure to guarantee more convenient navigation with the browser.
Google updated Chrome 90 to prioritize loading webpages through Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). Besides offering more rapid loading speeds, this new feature ensures better security and greater privacy for users exploring the internet.
This is indeed a welcome feature to complement most websites right now that use HTTPS. Moreover, you can open older websites with the secure extension in case the sites do not support HTTPS by default. Hence, users’ security is guaranteed nevertheless.
Rename Opened Windows
If you frequently find yourself having too many opened windows, then this feature is perfect for you.
With many windows, it can be a struggle to keep track of the websites you’ve opened, especially with multiple pages from the same website having similar titles. Good news for everyone, the new Chrome 90 feature now allows users to rename open windows, making organization easier.
To rename, right-click on any empty spot on a tab and encode your preferred name in the field. Another option is to open ‘More Tools’ and select ‘Name Window.’ Besides the tab, users can also rename in the taskbar.
Sharing Links to Highlighted Text
The new Chrome update comes with allowing users to send a link to someone else with a specific passage in the text highlighted.
To try out this feature, you need to open your selected website on Google Chrome. Then, select the text that you want to share by highlighting it. Afterward, right-click on the highlighted text and select ‘Copy link to highlight.’ Finally, paste the link and send it to your chosen recipient.
