Earning money with your tweets, who’s in?
Twitter is exploring additional features to include in their platform. Aside from a way to express opinions and insights into a maximum of 280 characters, there are other uses of Twitter for you. One of the potential features being tested internally is a way for Twitter users to tip other users. This is as long as they like or value those users.
A tweet posted by researcher Jane Manchun Wong showed images of a new button in user profiles that could offer a tipping option. Clicking the option gives you options to tip via Bandcamp, Cash App, and others.
What is Twitter Spaces?
Before all this news about the tip jar button, 9to5Mac reported about a tip jar feature in its audio-based platform last March 15. This is Twitter Spaces. This platform will allow its users to have live audio conversations on Twitter. It is just like a regular tweet but in audio form.
Since influencers and celebrities use different social media platforms to widen their network, Twitter can now be used just as that, with the monetization feature. They can help you see if it works.
Tip Jar Button: How To Use It?
To cater individual profiles, Twitter is now testing this “tip jar button” option. As described by a recent post from 9to5Mac, similar with Twitter Spaces, it will also be used with some popular payment services, including Bandcamp, Patreon, PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App. You can see this option next to the Edit Profile button.
What Else is New on Twitter?
This news somehow connects to another option added by Twitter last February. And even though this additional feature is yet to be confirmed to be available for public use, the odds are becoming higher. This is due to a new paid service called Super Follow.
From its terms, it allows users to not only follow but super follow their favorite influencers, celebrities and content creators by paying a certain fee. This way they get to have access to their exclusive content like tweets, fleets, and others.
However, the availability of Super Follow is also not yet confirmed as of today.
Another additional feature is Communities. As the name suggests, it creates communities of Twitter users sharing the same similarities and interests. This is somehow similar to the Facebook Groups. This new feature will allow users to follow accounts and tweets relevant to their interests.
“We’re working to create a product experience that makes it easier for people to form, discover, and participate in conversations that are more targeted to the relevant communities or geographies they’re interested in.”Twitter
All of the these additional features as with their launch date and others are uncertain yet. However, Twitter claims that the company has significant increase in speed with the launch of their new features. They want to transform their platforms to make it more useful for its users. Also, to somehow help solve bigger problems for its clients.
I know you cannot wait to explore these new options. Let us know your reactions.
