Is Respawn Entertainment finally getting the boost it needs to come up with fresh ideas for Titanfall 3?
Recent Apex Legends trailers have shown more Titanfall content in its upcoming Apex Legends’ Legacy. As a result of this, Titanfall 2 has seen an increase in player count on Steam as more players give its multiplayer mode more attention.
Titanfall 2 is a Respawn Entertainment first-person shooter game. It is an FPS game unique for its feature that not only allows human characters to interact with robots but also includes abilities.
All these combined with its various game modes give its players a distinctive experience that can’t be acquired in other games.
Similar to Titanfall 2, Apex Legends is a first-person shooter battle royale game by Respawn Entertainment. What makes it distinctly different, however, is its popularity and larger player count.
Riding the rising waves of the popularity that battle royale games brought, Apex Legends was unique for its special loot and its characters having unique abilities. Although it wasn’t as popular as when it first came out, it still maintains a stable player count from loyal users.
Coming in Season 9, Valkyrie and Ash from Titanfall are expected to join the existing legends.
Titanfall 2 Rise in Player Count
Ever since Respawn Entertainment showed that Apex Legends Season 9 would contain Titanfall content, it wasn’t hard to predict that the mecha FPS game would ride the wave of Apex Legend’s popularity by seizing some of the battle royale’s streaming numbers.
Moreover, according to TheGamer, another reason for its recent rise in the player count is the fact that it’s currently discounted to $7.49 on Valve’s Steam. It is also worth noting that the bargain is even bigger on the Xbox storefront, priced only at $2.99.
Owing to Respawn’s efforts in hyping the game, Titanfall 2 has finally got its second chance in the gaming community, with Steam’s recent charts showing over 10,000 users playing it. Specifically, it has an all-time high player count of 16,958, completely obscuring the player count it had after its initial release in June 2020.
Following the increase in player count, more Titanfall 2 content has also been streamed increasingly; however, the overall views are still far from impressive, as it lags behind more popular games at the moment.
The Future of Titanfall 2
The hype of the upcoming Apex Legends Season 9 has also undeniably revived the hype for Titanfall 2. However, while the mecha game is currently experiencing a boost in its player count, unfortunately, not much is known about how long it’ll last.
Will it end after Valkyrie comes out in Apex Legends or will both ride the same wave to popularity? Much is anticipated for both games, and unfortunately, only time will tell what we want to know.
