To add to the German computer accessory manufacturer’s ever-growing PC gaming product lineup, it has announced the stunning and economical ROCCAT Pyro and ROCCAT Magma as its latest RGB Gaming Keyboards.
ROCCAT’s Pyro and Magma keyboards are, in quite a few ways, akin to the brand’s Vulcan gaming keyboard series. Though these new devices definitely hold their own uniqueness, they do carry plenty of the same specs; convenient media controls, removable palm rests, transparent keys that enhance the brand’s AIMO Lighting, and ROCCAT’s Easy-Shift [ + ] technology.
What sets them apart from Vulcan then? ROCCAT’s Magma now boasts a completely illuminated top plate, including a 10-LED, 5 zone lighting. RGB lighting in the Vulcan series, on the other hand, is found only in its keys. Even better, the Magma Membrane RGB Gaming Keyboard provides a silent keystroke experience.
Older features enhanced
ROCCAT Founder and PC Peripherals at Turtle Beach General Manager, René Korte says, “With Magma we’re redefining membrane keyboards while pushing the boundaries of keyboard illumination yet again,” further specifying that Magma sports an entirely transparent plate that really lets its AIMO Lighting shine through. “It looks like nothing else out there and it’s affordable for gamers who want to show off their RGB gaming setup.” He adds.
Between the ROCCAT Pyro and Magma, it’s the Pyro that Cineflix particularly finds has more in common with the brand’s Vulcan products. Pyro’s design makes use of the same brushed metal plate, top-right volume wheel placement (as can be seen in a number of Vulcan keyboards), and transparent keys for AIMO Lighting found in the said series. Overall, these similarities render the new product very alike the ROCCAT Vulcan keyboards.
For extra comparison, the Pyro does have a more rounded body that is sleeker than those of older Vulcan models. It also comes with a palm rest which fastens securely to it, unlike the Vulcan keyboards’ magnetic attachment.
Pyro is said to be among the most feature-packed mechanical keyboards–for gaming–under $100. In addition to the features already mentioned, it uses 45g of operating force, TTC’s red linear switches (2.0mm actuation point), with a total travel distance of 4.0mm, allowing for strong and exact keystrokes. The Pyro keyboard’s switches have been tested to 50 million keystrokes’ worth of lifetime, ensuring a gaming experience that is both durable and responsive. With advanced anti-ghosting technology, it is guaranteed that all keys pressed simultaneously are registered.
Get them for relatively cheap
Interested customers can expect the ROCCAT Pyro and ROCCAT Magma to be released by the end of the month (specifically May 30, 2021). The Pyro is set to go for $99.99, whilst the Magma costs $59.99. Both these keyboards are now ready on ROCCAT’s website for those who wish to pre-order.
The release of a couple new and high-quality budget-friendly gaming keyboards are always good news. Gamers on a budget will surely want to take a look at these latest models of ROCCAT. Those with a little (or a lot) more money to spare will probably be after something like the Razer BlackWidow Elite Mechanical Gaming Keyboard. Others who prefer a single main device that won’t require too many external accessories might just want an Acer Nitro 5 Gaming Laptop instead.
